Not the best descriptions
I love the book don’t get me wrong but some of the signs are hard to decipher. So I’m not sure I’m teaching them right. Words describing the action would be helpful.

Bought this book for my class.
I love this book. I teach ASL in my class already and ran across this book. My Toddler's like this book as well. I've had it over a few weeks and the kids in my class are retaining so much from this book. I highly recommend this product.

Major Conceptual Errors
I think I’ve maybe in all the years I’ve had Amazon written one or two reviews. I felt led to write this because there are a couple major conceptual errors. This book was clearly written by a hearing person who does not have a deep understanding of American Sign Language. Why would they use a lightbulb for on and off? It is a totally wrong concept and wrong sign for that concept. You don’t open and close a umbrella like you would a door. Again, wrong concept so wrong sign. The shopping cart one is borderline. Yeah, you could use that sign for empty but that is not at all how you would sign a full shopping cart. The concept is very iffy on this one.Honestly it’s kind of embarrassing that someone would write a book in a language and not know these basic things. This is why Deaf should be writing ASL books.Other than that, I don’t like how there are too many pictures on one page. Toddlers cannot handle that much information at once. It would be great if if were one photo per page so you can focus on teaching each word and concept.Photos are great. Again, too many on a page but what is right here is good. Please let Deaf be the gatekeepers of their own language and the info will be correct. As someone who has their MA in Deaf Ed & is responsible for developing Deaf minds, I will teach the correct concept & keep the book for my little but it won’t be in my school library.Signed,Deaf Mama, M.Ed.Mother to Deaf toddler

Mostly Good Words, Mostly Good Finger Position Illustration, Zero Sign Descriptions
Most of the sign illustrations were easily understandable. Some, like RUN, were less so. I had to look up some sign definitions in my ASL dictionary to be sure I was doing them the right way. Also, keeping in mind that these signs are for Toddlers; words like "Tennis," "Badminton," and "Football" seem a little advanced. But what do I know? If you are going to use "Badminton" as a word for toddlers then why not "Swing" or "Slide?"

Great book
Nice pictures and easy to read. My child loves this book although the numbers should have been written more clearly.
