Great Study Guide
Unfortunately the post office lost the book and I had to purchase it elsewhere. However, it was worth it. I am/was an executive chef in NYC and needed a change in order to spend time with my family. I decided to go into the long term care world but through management and now a dietary director. One of the terms of me becoming a dietary director is I have to attain my cdm certificate and license. I was lucky since I already have degrees in both culinary arts and restaurant management I don't have to take the course for the cdm and just take the exam. From all of the practice exams that I have taken, 80 percent of what will be on the exam is things I've already learned from culinary school. Learning the terms and dietary specifications is something that I am doing every day with on the job experience. This study guide is great and focused and is very helpful for those who get nervous when taking exams. This guide will help you with focusing on taking the exam and how long to stay on each question. This is well written and focused on what's needed to be focused on. I also recommend the flash cards, the reviews state that they are really not flash cards but cards with information on them such as parts of a text book, but they are beyond helpful for the handful of us that don't have to take the course due to already having culinary school backgrounds. This is worth the read and buy...

Passed, despite this book
Very surprised to see this guide rated so highly. I just took the CDM exam and this book helped with fewer than 10 answers on the test. For a book this expensive, it should have helped much more than that. Probably a better option, although more expensive, is to buy an online study course and review the material that way. I would absolutely stay away from this book until they address topics that are actually on the exam.

Setting the Stage for Success -CDM Certification!
Very easy to read· I’ve already highlighted key points so far.· It’s difficult to keep FDA Code current, so notes may already be outdated· I probably would like to see for formulas or calculations.. perhaps like a (1) page “cheat-sheet” with examples· I understand the goal is the key the study guide succinctly….perhaps more exams and nutritional terms.· Last thoughts, perhaps build the study guide based on the percentage of material covered on the exam. (40% nutrition, 10% formulas, 10% human resources, 40% institutional foodservice management for example)· Overall, I’m excited to use this tool to prepare for my exam.

Is the CDM secrets study guide enough to prepare you for the test?
No, is not enough. But, it a great tool to invest in. I used it to study for my CDM exam (which I passed yesterday) & it helped me not to get overwhelmed with so many topics. I printed out the new format of tocips from the ANFP & along with the study guide cover the basics. There’s topics that need further studying & I went back to my books from school to get that info.I think the guide it’s worth buying & the only reason why I’m giving it a 3 star review is because: 1. Is not up to day with the list of topics asked by the ANFP, 2. There’s so many grammatical errors, and 3. There’s one wrong answer in the practice test. So, please take it back to editing please!!!
