Whatever liquid detergent you like and/or fabric conditioner. You decide which container (1 or 2) and then update the settings accordingly - I'd recommend spending a bit of time reading the instructions manual, it's well written and well worth it!

No, the ones supplied with the machine are sealed and "single use". It's theoretically possible to cut a hole in and fit a bung, but I would say it's more trouble than it is worth!
