Dream Wireless Platinum Collection Shel-Tek Series Knight All-In-1 Case/Holster Combo Case for iPhone 4/4S - Retail Packaging - Black Carbon Fiber

Prior to this, I had an Ifrog case / holster, of a similar style, which cost $30 and offered minimal protection to the phone and if your case broke (which mine did), it's nearly impossible to find another case to fit that holster. This new Knight case is awesome! The 3 components fit the phone and each other like a glove, just as they should. My specific requirements were: A belt holster with no awkward clips for removal of phone and a case still small enough to fit in my pocket when I'm not using the belt holster. This case / holster definitely delivers! On top of that, the case has a "satin" type finish, so it stays in your hand well, yet still slides in and out of the holster or a pocket without "hanging up" from being to "rubbery". I saw other reviews stating "phone could slide out of belt clip" and "rubber case didn't fit well", but I'm here to say "not true!" Every component fits the phone perfect and there's no way its coming out of the holster without a push, as it sits in a recess in the holster. additionally, the 2 piece outer case locks toghether like a vault around the rubber part. I have serious doubts that the 2 pieces would even separate if dropped. Unfortunately, the rubber around the charge port IS in fact too fat to fit most chargers though! I used an exacto knife with a brand new blade and easily trimmed the protruding piece of rubber away from that section (leaving the protrusions around the speakers). Do this before putting the hard shell on, as the hard shell is relatively difficult to snap apart. Having to make this modification is my ONLY reason for 4 stars instead of 5. If you can deal with that, it is BY FAR the best case for the money! If I had a hundred Iphone 4's, I would have these cases / holsters for EVERY ONE! Would be cool to see these in camo though too.

The Good: This case is a great compromise between protection and bulk. The case secures the phone and screen edge all the way around while leaving button and ports easily available for use (my Skullcandy and Marley headphones plug in fine). The phone with the case can easily be placed in and out of a pocket if the holster isn't being used. The compromise is that there is no screen protection. Personally, I don't mind having a bare screen but this may be an issue for some. The holster is very convenient and the phone sits securely in it.The Bad: The only room for improvement I see is the clip of the holster. It clips securely but between the teeth and hinge of the clip there is enough space for the holster to slide up and down the belt between pant loops. At times this makes it difficult to get the phone out of the holster (one must slide forward to the nearest belt loop for leverage) but not annoyingly so (for me at least). Because the clip also doubles as a kick stand for the case this might be necessary and unavoidable. My only other complaint is that my box was open when I received the product.I'm very pleased with the case. It's barely larger than a Belkin skin and offers the convenience of a holster and hard shell.If screen protection is desired you should be able to use a thinner screen skin. I'd recommend it to anyone trying to avoid Otter Box bulk and still have some peace of mind.

I recently received the iphone 4 and needed a case/hoslter combo. A plain case with hoslter I bought did not protect the phone at all. The Otterbox defender is very sturdy but way to bulky. I gave this case a try. It is a multipart case: a soft rubbery (seems like silicon) inner liner and a two part hard plastic shell. The holster is sturdy as well. I protects the iphone 4 very well and the hard plastic shell snaps and locks tightly. That being said, the inner liner slips on easy but the hard plastci shell is almost impossible to install, as it keeps pushing the snug silicon inner liner out of alignment. It took 45 minutes to figure out how to put it on. First put the phone in the silicon liner, then apply the face plate and ensure that the liner is snug to the bevel on the face plate. Then apply the back plate aligning it to the top near the headphone plug, using your finger nail push or pull the silicon liner along the bevel so it remains propery aligned and snapping the case closed from top to bottom as you go along. Yes it is very difficult to put on because it fit the phone very snug and secure, but it is worth the effort it tiake to put on. One note, the headphone and charging port remain open but the silicon liner is very tight, if not for that I would give the product 5 stars.

I was looking to downsize from an otterbox defender (whose holster's clip failed after one year) and this fits the bill nicely. Unlike the defender, the outside of the case is hard so it slides around (and in and out of your pocket) easily. You also don't have to open and close littler rubber doors to gain access to the headphone jack and charging/syncing port. The only hassle is that the rubber lining around the headphone jack wouldn't allow some of my older cheap cords or my good sony MDR 7506 headphones to plug in. Trimming the rubber solved the cheap cord problems but I had to replace the cord on the sonys with a hacked media bridge cord with a stepped plug on it.

This is a quality case. The fit and strengh is exceptional. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it has made the power button on top of the phone, almost impossible to push. The inner cushioned core covers the button under the hard exterior. So when you try to push it in it just compresses the cushion core. You have to really push hard to get the button to acivate. Also the case is just thick enout to keep it from working on my dock station. Other than that, I have been through a lot of cases and this is the best so far.
