It should do it's only two contacts, just make sure it's not to far from the internet hub

No, the unit makes no sound itself. You could add a SmartHome siren and program it I guess. There's often quite a long delay between opening the door and the phone knoiwing about it, as each device in the home checks every few seconds for a message from Amazon or wherever the app is hosted
