DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!
Don't bother wasting your money on this software. If you watch the demo video [...], you'll see a flashy, wonderful, idea of what the product can do for you. But this program is not what it seems. There are characters that you can place in your storyboard, but their poses are fixed and do not begin to approach the range of movement necessary to exhibit any of the needed action poses required by most storyboards. You can choose from standing, walking, running, and odd jumping pose, and a lay down pose that looks like the odd jumper fell over. Sounds like a lot when you include the rotations, but if you have a character holding a gun, pointing at someone, or hitting someone or something (positions that most storyboards call for), you'll have to draw that in yourself. You can NOT manipulate the arms, legs, head or torso in any of the given poses, as a separate moving part. Imagine the people in your film with rigid unanimated arms and legs. They all have stiff necks, and no facial expressions, and you'll get an idea of the software's limitations. The software also suggests you can customize their characters, but what they really mean is you can change the color of their pants, shirts, skin, and hair. You are stuck with their one outfit, and hairstyle. The software's props, interiors, and exteriors are ridiculously lacking usefulness, and equally as restrictive as the characters. This may not sound like a huge deal, but once you start creating your storyboard vision of your film, you will see that your hands are completely tied and you are unable to express the story visually. I say this from a Producer/Director's viewpoint. A storyboard that doesn't clearly express the scene is an unprofessional storyboard, no matter how professional the software claims to be.A storyboard should require very little explanation. Once you have to say, "I realize it looks like this, but what I really wanted to show was this..." , you have completely lost the point of the storyboard, and you have created even more work for yourself and those on your production team. You might as well hire someone, or draw the frames out yourself. In my opinion, this software will drastically limit your ability to create a usable storyboard. I liken the software to a colorful alternative to stick figure storyboards. [...]

Storyboard Quick 6.1 and Storyboard Artist 7 are incredible
I'm a Storyboard Quick 6.1 and Storyboard Artist 7 user. I was despairing because - with wonderful work by three very talented voice artists completed - I couldn't connect with an available storyboard artist, or a working software package. That was until I tried Storyboard Quick 6.1 (and then Storyboard Artist 7, which I'm just becoming accustomed to). I'm thrilled with the programs and the support provided for them.I hope the previous reviewers will give the current version of Storyboard Quick 6.1 or Storyboard Artist 7 a try. My demo reel would still be languishing as an 'unfinished project', were it not for the current offerings of Storyboard Quick and Storyboard Artist. Well done, Power Production Software!

horrible interface, limited library
This software is convoluted and makes you buy ad on libraries which are compose of one or two characters only for $50-$78 each. greedy developer with substandard product. Very disappointing. Waste of money.

A great way to work out shots!
As a professional director I found Storyboard Quick is a great way to organize your shots and figure out what types of shots you want to shoot. I like to plan out my shots, in other words I don't wing it. I sit down and come up with a shot list for my projects, then I work out the shots using this software. When I storyboard a scene, the main thing I think about is how many shots (set ups) I am going to have and what they going to look like compositionally (wide shot, closeups, etc.) Storyboard quick has been great for this. I print them out and show to the DP so we are on the same page, and he can map out his work knowing what the setups are going to be. Also, I think this is really great software for directors of any skill level, it makes you think about your shot list, and lets you have a way to work with the shots before you go on the set. I highly recommend it.

very weak capability ... very complex authorization ... do not waste your money
this software is REALLY weak ... limited library ... no posing options ... you can't manipulate actors ... limited poses ... in general, if u draw simple drawing with pen and paper it will be more great than this software ... couple of days now in our studio we try to install the software on another machine and we suddenly discover that we can't ... the software license can be installed just once ... if u want to install it on another computer you should contact them and give them the serial number then they will send you a code then u put it on the old computer u want to uninstall from it then the software will give you a code then you send the code to them again then you can install it on the new computer ... a long circle of events and it needs time ... we as a professional studio can't wait for all these steps to be done. do not waste your money !!!

StoryBoard Quick is awesome!
I can't say enough good things about this program! I use a lot of software and there is often a disconnect between the user of the software and the designer of the program. I am happy to say this is not the case with StoryBoard Quick! I had a group project due where we had very limited time for pre-production - 1 weekend. Not only were we able to get it done super fast, it looked great. The professor and rest of the class were very impressed and more importantly we were able to use the boards to shoot our project. Thanks StoryBoard Quick!

Very poor software...DO NOT buy!
I would have given this 0 stars but it's not an option. After purchasing the product I could not get it working on my computer. At first support was good with a ton of suggestions on what to try to get it to work on my system. After the previous 6 emails back and forth between tech support suggestions didn't work I sent 4 emails asking for a refund. As soon as sent the first email asking for a refund they went silent. Its been 2 months and still have not heard back from them. Very poor customer service and apparently a buggy product that doesn't work on every configuration. Buyer beware if you can't get it working as you will have thrown $250.00 down the drain.
