Good quality item at this price point
After browsing around a bit on Amazon for a bag for my new Pavilion dv7 (17.3") I came across this model. I really liked the look and price. This particular bag has a zipper across the top which allows access to the computer storage compartment. You do not unzip an entire flap, nor can you adjust any bolsters or velcro straps. You unzip and slide the computer into the compartment. Now, my Pavilion has the extended battery pack that sticks out a good 3/4" from the bottom of the computer, and even with this added thickness, the computer fits easily into the compartment and the side fit is just about exact. You definitely wouldn't want to send the computer as checked luggage in this bag, nor would I say it's highly protected; but it's adequately protected and access/removal is ultra fast. After inserting the computer and zipping the zipper, you flip the 'messenger' flap over the top and can buckle the flap with a Z-style hook. It's not that secure and the flap can come open although this isn't of any consequence for the computer and would only matter if you were an actual bike messenger with loose papers shoved in the flap. There is a decent over the shoulder strap with light padding, connected to the bag by plastic/metal hooks & D-rings of average-appearing strength. There are miscellanous other compartments under the aforementioned flap for papers, USB sticks and I could fit my power cord & brick, too.Overall it's an understated bag almost 100% black with tiny bits of silver piping on the handle that amounts to nothing and teal blue inside. I like the black, simple exterior and ease of use. I also like that it's not covered with zippers and bulging with pockets everywhere on the exterior.Perfect for those looking for a light to medium duty 17.3" bag to tote a laptop and a few files to and from the office; but don't expect it to stop bullets, and don't toss the bag across the room onto your desk when you get to work.

All you could need in a laptop bag.
Case Logic. It's a brand I've definitely seen many many times, making cases for various things. I was looking around for a laptop bag for a computer with a 15.6" screen (so around 16.5" diagonally, the entire computer, that is). I came across a lot of variations. I saw this and was pretty intrigued. Instead of the standard "clamshell" or open bag where the zipper opens the entire bag, the laptop instead slides into a nice, padded compartment. One thing to look out for is the density and thickness of the padding used to cushion all sides, especially the bottom. Not everyone will put their bag down on the larger side or care to avoid plopping down the bag. It's also supposed to protect in case of impact of if it were to be dropped. I was very satisfied with the moderately thick, dense padding on all sides. The bag also has compartments for papers, folders, files, etc. but the way to access this compartment is not by zipper, not by clasp, not even by hook and loop (e.g. velcro). Instead, it is by a hook. This is somewhat bothersome as simply having something slide across the bag could open the compartment and loosen the flap. As a design choice, it has a good aesthetic, but ultimately, is worse than something even as simple and more secure as a clasp. It far outperforms a magnet (something I saw when shopping around), since that's a bad choice anyway. This laptop bag is solid. It's pretty comfortable to use the sling or the handle, and the material has an interesting feel but seems very durable and even moderately water resistant. It fit a last-gen dv7t perfectly. It can definitely handle almost any 17" screen laptop with little trouble.

Elegant, light laptop bag
This bag is light, my 17 inch Acer fits perfectly with a little bit of space left, nice pockets, nice inside color (not that shade of blue but something like turquoise). It's stylish with a very useful back strap for attaching it to the hand luggage. A little bit strange as the laptop goes into a pocket that opens in the back of the bag and not under the flap as you would expect. Feels sturdy with probably a good price for a little bit under thirty as I got it.

Great Bag but for me did'nt work
i received the bag this week and i can say that for me doesn't work because is too big, that wasn't what im looking for. i was looking for a bag that allows me to save my 14' laptop but also other stuffs suchs agenda, snacks, water bottle but i think is too much for me. i was looking for something compact for my basic things, because i usually im on the streets, visiting clientes (im a sales executive). its very confortable, its not too heavy to carry on but again is the size. i think is a bag that can be used by an student more than a executive because they ussually carry more things than other people.Regarding the product, it has 5 places you can put your stuff, great color, i love the blue and black combination. it seems like that the materials are veeery resistible and you can have for a looong long time, no matter the use you give it. the front zipper (which apparently is to have your cellphone) can also be used for put your ipod at the same time you put your cellphone. you feel your stuff are safe because it has internal material that protect your things from any hit or anything. i strongly recommend all the case logic product but be careful with the size ok, don't make the same mistake that i did. i will buy a new one with other size, i will let you know.
