Fiskars 12 Inch LED SureCut Folding Rotary Paper Trimmer (154470-1002)

I am loving my new paper trimmer! This is the first item I have purchased through Amazon Warehouse Deals and I am certainly not disappointed! The product arrived in 2 days was well packaged and undamaged even though the actual product box was dented and dinged, it was not moving in the Amazon box with air pockets.So far I have only cut lightweight cardstock and it has cut like butter. The blade track is aluminum so it doesn't bow when you make a cut leaving a straight cut!! The LED cutting light is a nice added touch. I like the full extended deck of the cutting board.The only thing I think could be better is the grip the rubber feet have on my table top. It grips but I thought it would grip better.So far I am loving this paper trimmer and would defiantly recommended it to a friend. I also recommend to check out Amazon Warehouse Deals!

Great product. Folds in half for storage, and has a light on the line right where the blade passes, not that it's absolutely necessary with all the horizontal and vertical measurements on the face. I've used this little gadget for neater scrapbooking, to cut escort cards for my wedding, and a dozen other little projects where I wanted a nice clean cut. My escort cards came out so nice and sharp my fiance thought I had them done professionally! I do occasionally have to go over the cut with two passes of the blade, especially with heavier cardstock, but it's not a big deal.

I was somewhat leary about buying this item from Amazon because the price was two thirds less than all other sites & stores I researched. To my relief, I received the brand new item and enjoy working with it. Of course the price was phenomenal. It's been really helpful and being able to fold it to save space makes it even better. Amazon did a great job and I will be coming back for other items in the future.

Fiskars has been a quality brand, starting with its Scandinavian-made scissors years ago. Nowadays they are cutting costs and, in the process, product quality is suffering.The orange wheel housing of this trimmer, key to safe and precise use of the product, is made of flimsy and flexible plastic. I was horrified to find that, on many occasions when making a cut, it all-too-easily unlatches itself and, in an instant, the cutting blade is fully exposed to your fingers. In other words, the latch for blade replacement opens when it shouldn't. I, a mature adult, nearly cut myself. Imagine a child using this product.If the orange housing is not pushed precisely along the rail, high friction makes it jam. This is even more likely to make the housing spring open.The good feature is that the design allows precise viewing of the edge to be cut--the blade cuts on the left side of the rail, unlike earlier Fiskars trimmers. Bad features are that the grid scales are in inches only, not centimeters as well, and that the scale markings are underneath the plastic, making for imprecision due to parallax errors.I recommend the older Fiskars Rotary Paper Trimmer - 12". It is harder to see exactly where you are cutting, and the blade has to be tightened just so, but it is much sturdier, has better scales, and is SAFER.

The price I paid for this product was for a new product as was stated in the product description. When I received this item the box was open and appeared to be in used condition. There is no product information pamphlet in the box or with the unit. After removing the unit from the open box I fully examined the unit to find that it has been used. The cut bar has a definite indented track from the blade and is blackened at both ends.

****Edited: After using this trimmer for 6 months, I actually like it. It's not as far off as I thought. Not perfect, but certainly better than I first thought it was. ****Not happy with this trimmer. As soon as I got it, I cut all 90 enclosures for my wedding invitations. When I went to insert the cards, I realized all of the measurements were 1/16" off. I checked the markings on the trimmer with a ruler and sure enough, the zero on the trimmer was not lined up with where the trimmer actually cuts. My invitations just barely fit; I'm lucky I didn't have to cut them all again.Also, the LED is kind of cool but not incredibly useful. It sort of helps you line up your trim line but not very exactly. I had a bunch of cards printed on regular cardstock that I had to cut out on the lines. This wasn't easy to do and I ended up just cutting them with scissors by hand.Also, I could only cut two or maybe three pieces of cardstock at once, and even then I had to make several passes before it would cut all the way through. I would NOT advise anyone to get this trimmer. More trouble than it's worth.

I love this Paper trimmer. It cuts smooth and easy. The light helps me see what I'm doing. It is perferct for what I wanted it for. I do a little crafting and scrapbooking but, I really wanted it for cutting my coupons that I print out. It does a great job and the coupons come out perfect. What more can I say about this item except it's a great little Paper Trimmer I highly recommend it.

Like the durability and clean cuts for multiple sheets and different kinds of material. Not sure how much can trust the ruler if looking for precision down to micromillimeter
