I ordered 6 of these for gifts. Oswald Chambers is the quintessential best for in-depth devotions. I have used this devotions for 30+ years it is always a feast - year after year. I can not count the number of them that I have purchased over the last 30 years. I prefer the classic language - but also appreciate the updated versions, especially for gifting to the younger generations. Each version is awesome. These 6 are leather-like bound and wear well and make wonderful gifts.

I love this devotional. It's more challenging than Jesus Calling which is exactly what I was looking for. More of a daily lesson that teaches me something rather than inspiration and encouragement alone day by day. If you're trying to make improvements one day at a time and start a habit this is a great choice. It's "updated language" is still a few decades old and the vocabulary is vast. I would say it's written at a higher comprehension level than a lot of citizens of the United States read at these days.

I wanted a devotional that included space for taking notes like a journal for a young lady who is still young in Christ. I don't actually know if she will use it, but I do like the product. Nice cover and lots of space for notes.

I have read literally dozens of print and online devotionals -- alone and in groups. But no other devotional has impacted me as greatly as Oswald Chambers' My Utmost for His Highest. Chambers was an amazing thinker, speaker, and writer. He died far too young. Due to his wife's diligence in transcribing his many messages for his audiences, we are now blessed with this devotional. Each day presents very brief but beefy messages to inspire, teach, and challenge us as Christians to be salt and light to a culture which so needs biblical truth. I journaled through this devotional and gained an even deeper understand of God and His commands.
