I bought this for my 84-year-old uncle, who has significant back problems and struggles to bend over and put on his socks. This was actually the fourth sock aid we tried, and it was by far the best one. It came assembled! The design makes it easy to slide the sock onto the device and then onto his foot without a lot of bending, twisting, or frustration. Unlike some of the others we tried, it worked as intended and did not require a lot of hand strength or complicated maneuvering. For someone with limited mobility, independence is important, and this has helped make a daily task much easier. After wasting money on several other products that didn't work well, we were relieved to finally find one that does. If you're shopping for an elderly parent, grandparent, or anyone with back, hip, or mobility issues, I would definitely recommend giving this one a try.

This sock aid has been an absolute game changer for my dad. He has mobility issues and struggled every morning trying to put his socks on without pain or frustration. Since getting this device, he’s been able to do it on his own again, which has really helped his confidence and independence. It’s simple to use, sturdy, and works exactly as advertised. I have lymphedema in my legs; for those of you that haven't heard of that - it causes my legs to swell with lymph fluids that harden if not treated. Wearing compression hose - sooner or later - is really necessary. I tried other sock aids and returned them until I tried this one. That doesn't mean that this one is easy but it does mean that it was the best one for me. So some of the things I especially liked: the plastic piece was wider than some of the others which really helped me with fitting my leg and foot into the form. The cords are long enough and strong enough to allow me to really pull to get the stocking on. This sock aid has a rubberized or sponge piece that helps the sock not to slide off the plastic piece as you're trying to get your toes to the "toe" part of the stocking - really helpful. Some of the things that I "changed" from the instructions or wish could be changed. 1. Placing the sock on the plastic piece only to the heel did not work for me; my feet swell to the point that the sock is pushed off the plastic piece before I can get it over the heel. I pull the sock onto the plastic piece clear down to the toe. That works great except that putting the sock onto the plastic puts so much pressure on the plastic piece that it's difficult to fit my foot in it. My solution - pull the plastic piece further out with your hands (sometimes I can make this work) but an even better solution is that I leave the sock on the plastic piece and put a cylindrical item that is as wide as my foot down the plastic piece (like a quart jar) and let it stay there for a while. The effect is that the plastic piece widens enough for me to put my foot into the sock and pretty easily pull it over the heel (obviously the quart jar is removed before doing that). 2. It would be ideal if there were a way to mechanically widen the plastic piece to the width needed or to make it less pliable so that it wasn't narrowing with the stronger compression socks. 3. It would also be nice, if the sock aid had a separate contraption which would allow you to secure the top of the stocking on it and if that separate contraption had handles on it which could be used to help physically pull the stocking up the leg. (I've kind of overcome this, by bending the top of the stocking over so that I can grab it to pull the stocking up. This doesn't work very well and sometimes not at all, because part of the lymphedema treatment is applying lotion to the leg, which means my hands are slippery) These things being said - This is the BEST sock aid I've found so far and the only one that is allowing me to get my compression hose on by myself. Would I buy it again? Absolutely. Do I recommend it to others? You bet I do!

I have arthritis and it is nearly impossible to put on socks without a LOT of pain. My wife is happy to help me, but I prefer autonomy. I need to be able to do it myself. I watched a YouTube video about this Sock Aid and thought I'd give it a try. There are instructions with photos, but watching the video I thought was better, watching how it works. On my first attempt I had success. The key is to get the sock all the way on so your toe is going onto the toe of the sock. You then pull up on the handles and they're on! Does this take a lot of extra time? No. It is easy and quick. The best part: it is painless. Let's face it--not all products for people with various handicaps work well, but this one does. Definitely give it a try.

My absolutely stubborn father recently fell off of a ladder and herniated a disc. He has been in so much pain and tries to hide it, but when I was recently visiting him, he asked me to help him put on his socks. He won’t ask for help very often so I knew that it must be causing him a lot of pain. After I went home I ordered this and had it delivered to him. I think he was a little skeptical or felt a little silly at first, but then this morning I got a text message, thanking me and telling me how easy and helpful it is. The simplest design but super effective if you or someone you love is having back pain or trouble bending over for whatever reason. I definitely recommend this.

It’s great in theory but the black dot makes it really difficult to put socks on the device and it was even more difficult trying to take the black dot off

This product is absolutely fantastic. So easy to use. Wish I had bought it sooner leading up to my hip surgery. Highly recommend and I don’t say this lightly.

Works gets your toes right into the end of your sock. Can't wait to see how it works on my compression socks. Why wait be right back. Well ok then, so pretty hard to load cause socks are so tight. However I figured out that if you pinch the sides and pull down, works pretty good. I just put a sock on and toes were in perfect and it took sock about halfway to knee. Then just used hands and pulled up rest of the way. Worked great. I believe these socks are a 15 in tightness. On a 25 or so you would likely have to oil up your foot to get it to slide through the plastic. It was kinda tight with 15 compression. But regular socks this unit works really good. I don't own ankle socks or sockets to test. Well I have sockets but they undue nuts. Anyway if you have bad hips or big guts I have both and putting on socks hurts the hip and knee. Ok update I just put on the other compression sock and what I said about pintch the sides.WRONG squeeze it a bit and slide the sock down easy peasy. Now the instructions say sit in a sturdy chair and your feet flat on the ground. Well I am not going to kitchen to put socks on,I am using a lazy boy recliner rocker. And I have no problem what so ever. My daughter will be really happy I have this cause after using big chainsaw for a day my hip has been sore for 3 weeks it is getting better but older ya get longer to heal. And she has been helping with socks. Mind you tonight will be the first time in 3 or 4 weeks since I wore compression socks as she could not get them on me. So if you can't bend over very well to put on socks this is a true game changer. As a matter a fact I am going to purchase another one for a fellow millwright at work that can't touch his toes and does not wear socks because of it.
