SKB Tripod Case, Black

After recent abuse of my tripod by American Airlines I had to purchase a hard case for it. Perhaps I should have done that to begin with. Whatever. This case is large enough to hold two of my Manfrotto tripods so it definitely fits the bill for capacity. The design is simple and solid. The wheels are a joy to have as well. This was a 'used' model but had no wear and tear. It was only $70.00 versus the brand new price of $180.00 -- but I would have happily paid $180.00 for this quality. Great bargain and great quality. Can't wait to take it on my next trip. This review was written before I had a chance to test it out in the real world!

Seems very durable and it easily fits a large tripod. Great price for the quality.

Perfect fit for Sachtler CF 100mm with an Oconnor 1030d.

I just travelled to Wyoming via flying to Salt Lake City. It traveled well. It held my tripod, daypack, beanbag, etc. The wheels are smooth and I had no issues pulling it through the airport. In Salt Lake City, it came through the baggage claim where skis and golf clubs come through. Back in Dallas, it came up the conveyor like any other piece of luggage. Best of all no damage to my tripod!

Wheels, space, weight, durability. If you travel a lot and like your tripod to still work when you get to location the next day, this one is a great choice. Very solid build and tons of space for other things like gel rolls and boom poles. I would only recommend putting foam on the lid. For scale: Fits Sachtler Video 18's & 20's with standard legs.

Excellent protection, plenty of room for more. May add a foam piece on top for more stability / protection of tripod head.

I love this case. It's traveled with me to over a dozen locations. After 6 months though, the pins that keep the handle on slid-out and I lost the handle mid-flight. It arrived at the baggage carousel without a handle.I'll order a replacement handle then substitute the pins with a threaded solution.

rugged, well balanced, good capacity. i bubble wrap fragile items, but use it for slider, light stands, tripods.

Der SKB Stativköcher ist auf dem Papier eigentlich der ideale Köcher. Beworben wird er auch mit der Passform für verschiedene Stative, so z.B. auch das Sachtler Video 18 mit MCF Beinen, das ich besitze. Das Stativ hat jedoch sehr viel Spiel im Köcher, sodass es beim Transport hin und her wackelt. Der Stativkopf schlägt durch das Spiel gegen die Innenwand des Köchers, das geht natürlich nicht! Ohne selbst mit Schaumstoff nachzubessern o.ä., war der Köcher für mich nicht zu gebrauchen, da viel zu groß. Die Rücksendung lief problemlos ab.
