Love this box

Good quality product which came with excellent directions as to how to assemble it and very easy to assemble. Instructions call for flat head and Phillips head screwdrivers, googles and a mallet.The only tool I actually needed was the Phillips head one. That’s the only thing I needed! Took less than an hour to assemble.

Read directions before you start putting together.: Caution :Will not stand being run over.This is a replacement box for the first one.

The box is great. Just be careful when assembling. I had a little time and thought I would put it together quickly. First page showed the 4 sides going on and it looked simple to assemble and started putting pieces together. But they have to go in a certain order. If I had moved onto the 2nd page I would have seen that. If you don’t follow the instructions, you find yourself with a hairdryer and screwdrivers trying to get it to fit together. It is not made to come apart once assembled. The good news is that i was able to do it without breaking it. Instructions aren’t bad…. Just need to read them.

Have had these for over 10 years sit outside in rain and snow and still look good as new

I'm writing this in December 2018 and bought it back in 2014.I was recommending a deck box to a friend and looked up the one we bought on Amazon. I couldn't believe it was 4 years ago! I figured I've got to write a review because it's been a fantastic item and is as good as new 4 years later.The deck box came with all the necessary parts and pieces and easy to follow instructions. It was like a snap-together toy for adults and putting it together was straightforward and satisfying (you feel like you "built" something while all you did was an adult-sized snap-together project LOL!).The quality of this deck box is superb. It has held up to North-East coastal weather extremes - snow, sleet, ice and rain in the winter and heat, sun and humidity in the summer (we're a little over a mile off the coast). It sits outdoors on a porch and keeps everything inside it nice and dry. Our deck box gets a lot of use, is opened and closed daily and has held up really well.It has these sturdy plastic strips inside the lid that keeps the lid from opening too far and falling backwards. They serve a great function and have held up nicely as well.The basket weave pattern is pleasant and classy. It does not look cheap at all, which it easily could have. The brown color (they call it "mocha") is a dark brown color that goes well with a brick and concrete porch.It looks and functions exactly as it did the day we put it together which is simply fantastic. I highly recommend this to anyone considering a deck box.

The media could not be loaded. Update: My original review could not attest to its ability to keep the contents dry. That changed last night. It poured, rained hard for a good while. The video shows rain, but not the hard rain I’m talking about. I’m happy to say the contents were kept bone dry. The bottom of the unit showed no signs of even a drop of water. This was a great purchase for me.Original;Everything lined up and joined up to each other nicely. Someone commented they had to drill holes to attach the lid because the bar wouldn’t slide through. There is no bar that slides through all, just 3 pins. I’m a big guy, 220+ lbs, and I can sit on the lid with no problem. The quality is better than expected. Looks and performs great.
