Feels like it’s very solid construction. Easy to install. Used Teflon tape on the installation and have some very slight leakage. I mean very slight. I’m going to get some pipe dope and reassemble and see if that stops it completely from dripping. Happy I went with brass to replace the plastic one that failed.

Be aware the thread quality on these is very tight and rough and should have been burnished by the factory. When screwing into our ABS trailer water pump, the starter threads on these are so tight that it has a tendency to cross thread. I had to file and burnish the first few threads so it would properly receive the female threads to the water pump. Other than that, it works very well to keep water from backflowing into the trailer tank when using a city water hose hookup.

Pump backfilled the fresh water tank. Thought I needed a new pump, but this was a much cheaper fix. 10/10 would recommend if you have this problem.

The fresh water tank on our 2016 Minnie Winnie started dripping from the overflow. When connected to a "city water" connection, it was also filling our fresh tank through a leaking check valve. The Shurflo 4008 bypass pump has a check valve built in it. It's an easy repair with Shurflo #94-800-03 check valve repair kit, but I wanted to go a step further so I added the Camco 23303 valve. To make certain it wasn't too restrictive I did a simple volume comparison using the garage laundry sink and a cheap cut of garden hose. With the same water pressure it took 1 second longer to fill a gallon jug with the valve inserted in the garden hose. For the installation the factory hose was cut on the discharge side of the pump, and with a couple of PEX fittings, as well as crimping collars and tool, it was fairly straight forward. The brass valve has a flow direction arrow etched into it (enhanced with a Sharpie for the photo). Shurflo advised the valve could go on either the intake or discharge side of the pump, but also agreed that these pumps generally push better than they pull, thus the valve went on the outlet/discharge side.

These work great for installing before the pump in a RV when the one in the pump fails & fills your fresh water tank.
