Laptop Cable Lock - 4ft Cable - 2 Keys - Notebook & Computer Security Anti-Theft PC Locking Kit

I have purchased the laptop lock for college and not to worry if I leave it in my dorm room. The first one I bought the lock cracked after several drops from the floor from my dorm bed(3 feet) lasted all fall semester. The second one I bought has lasted longer than the first one as I am more careful in not letting the lock fall to the floor. The laptop lock comes with two keys which is helpful if you lose one or misplaced it. The length of the cable is good not to short or long, also very good quality cable lock for the price.

Great lock! I don't recommend leaving your computer unattended in public places, like airports, bus and/or train stations, etc., but if you need to step away for a few minutes, it'll be there when you return, if you use as directed of course. My brother was able to keep his laptop from being stolen with one of these locks in the middle of a huge international airport when a thief failed completely to cut the cable or break it off of his computer while he went to use the toilet. It even got the thief caught and taken to jail! Now I even keep my laptop locked to the desk in my apartment/hotel, where I am now living, 24/7 and I can relax better knowing that it will most likely be there when I return, and I NEVER go anywhere without it in my computer carry case!. So far so good. haha Of course, it will not stop someone who is determined to steal it, but they'll break the computer before they ever get the lock off and the cable is not easily cut but can be with cable cutters. But who carries around cable cutters in their pocket anyway?! If you want an extra level of security and want to feel relaxed and secure that your computer will be where you left it, I would very highly recommend one of these computer security cable locks...and another cup of coffee while waiting for your next flight, etc.....I will never travel anywhere with my computer without this cable lock. Very highly recommended! =)

I purchased 2 of these locks for my work in downtown Brooklyn as there are too many patients with sticky fingers in this area. I didn't want to deal with rotating dials so I bought this version that comes with 2 keys. The first cable was a problem from the start as I had a hard time aligning the "tongue" of the lock so it can be inserted into my laptop and even then I could barely turn the key to open or close it. After 3 days the head separated into several pieces that I could still put together and it held the computer securely but I needed to lock/unlock it daily so I threw it away. The second cable lasted a week, saved my laptop from walking out and also fell apart.IMO, if your plan is to secure a computer that kept in one place, this lock will do the job. The cable is strong and the lock holds very well. But if you plan on opening and closing it daily, this device is not for you.

It won't work on a Macbook Air. After I ordered it the company notified me that they don't work on Macs and I could cancel the order but by then it was too late, it had already shipped. It looks like a quality cable I would have sent it back but for ten bucks it isn't worth it. I gave it to someone who had a PC.

Worked just fine for a few months (locked / unlocked only a handful of times) and tonight when trying to use it to lock my laptop at work it fell apart. A small metal piece from inside the lock actually fell out and it would not function. Probably a great unit if you're going to "set it & forget it" but mine didn't hold up to many uses at all and its too late to do a return.At least it wasn't very expensive. For repeated use get a higher quality lock.

Very good quality cable lock for the price. I've used this cable lock for some months with no problems. It's much less expensive than many similiar products and works just as well. This lock is a bargain.

Wow this is my first review because this thing is really nice! I've had many iterations of Kensington cable locks and most of them were loose, partially built with plastic, or too bulky. This lock is exactly what I've been looking for. It's so simple yet well though out and feels like quality. At first I thought that this lock didn't fit a macbook pro mid 2012, because in the past I've had those pull anchor types so it fits in straight through. But this one is designed with a slight wedge shape and a rubber o-ring bumper to facilitate a snug lock. Don't be afraid to turn to the key to the right with a little more force (not huge force just more than a typical door lock), and it will secure your laptop with a satisfying feel. The cable itself is adequate for its purpose (I've had thinner gauge from a gun lock box) and the crimp is solid with a fully covered mold so there's no worry of scratches or poking yourself with frayed cable wire. Also on the lock itself move freely to change position almost as if it is on a ball bearing (maybe it is). The tolerance on this thing is really nice. Key turn is very smooth. This does not feel cheap at all like many of the 25-40 dollar laptop locks I've purchased.

It does the job and gives security for me to leave my laptop anywhere were I go for work.
