Love this Cat Scat Mat!!! Discourages my Baby from getting on my couch!!!
All my babies are now big doggies!!! I have a bad habit of letting them get on the couch with me when they are little, but I have always been able to keep them off my couch once they got bigger!!! My biggest fella is close to 80lbs, and has weighed more than that at times!!! Unfortunately, my last rescue babie has refused to be detoured!!! I was able to keep her off for a while, and then she started all over again to get on my couch!!! It is very important nowadays that she stay off my couch because now I sleep on my couch!!! And her getting on my couch wouldn't be such a big deal, except that when I forget and yell at her to get down, she pees on my bed. Being a rescue, she obviously needs more love and attention than other dogs do!!! And I try NOT to yell at her at all, except when she gets out of the fence, and at that point, I am calling her name looking for her instead of yelling at her. When she does get on my couch, she likes to stick her nose in my big mug of iced tea!!! And she has actually drank some of it, and either vomited it up or spat it out on my couch!!! Before now, all my other babies have gotten down when I told them to get down without peeing, or vomiting on the couch. So, to keep my bed from being peed on, vomited on, or spilled on by my youngest and most determined babie girl puppy doggie, I bought this Cat Scat Mat!!! It works!!! I put the one strip down the middle!!! And at 1st she stayed off of my bed!!! Then she decided to sit on one side of it!!! Unfortunately when I made her get off, she peed on my couch, AGAIN!!! Anyway, I took the extra piece and put it on the one side, and she is staying off my couch as of now!!! So, I am PLEASED!!! Today, she paused looked at the Scat mat lying on top of my bed/couch, and turned and walked on by!!! Hooray!!! I am definitely winning the battle!!! Obviously, when I get my bedroom repaired, I will keep the door closed, but til then, these mats are doing a great job!!! I bought some more mats to put outside in my large pot to keep the neighbor's cats from using it as a place to potty!!! I sure hope they work as well as this has. Thank you to whoever invented these mats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So far so good!
We have been having a feral cat prey upon songbirds at our feeder when we put seed out and along our seat wall. I tried a metal trap I bought but after no luck with that I looked into deterrence. These scat mats, so far, have been great! They cut easily with scissors and one can maneuver them around to where they need to be. We placed them in the hiding spots where we have seen the cat and also moved one of our Arlo cameras over to keep an eye on their effectiveness. We have seen the cat at night and in the mornings walk on the brick ledge around the mats and I recently bought another mat to put up on the brick to eliminate that path choice. We have not seen the cat kill any birds since we put them down and we have not seen the cat walking or sitting on the mats so it seems indeed, it does not like the prongs. Our dogs stepped on it once and have not repeated the mistake. Really pleased...would recommend if you have a similar problem or want to keep a cat or dog off an area. **Update 5/11/2020**: It has been 3 months now since we have installed these scat mats and we are 100% satisfied. We have not had one bird killed by the feral cat since we put them down. More so, we have seen the cat less and less on our Arlo camera and it seems it has lost interest in our yard (knock on wood) by eliminating it's kill spots. That was my goal, to force the cat to sit in a more visible spot, so the birds could see the cat and wait to feed until the threat was gone. Unfortunately we have seen the cat prowling the neighborhood so sadly it is likely finding birds or other small animals elsewhere...but at least these scat mats have returned our yard to a safe haven.

I don’t have dirt all over my dining room so I’m happy.
I bought this to protect the potted plants I winter over inside. I quickly learned that my young cat loves to dig. This product was easy to cut around the roots. The spikes intended to hold down the netting are far too short to serve that purpose against a determined cat. He quickly learned how to pull the netting off. Since it comes in a roll, it tends to roll up when in use. That being said, I didn’t spend time trying to flatten it before use. It’s now doing the trick with some small rocks holding it down. The spikes definitely work to deter animals from jumping onto it. Overall easy to use and effective. Agree with other reviewers that it may be overpriced given the modifications to make it effective.

NO CATS !!
This mat is great , keeps the feral cats out of my flowers and veggies garden. I also use coyote urine all around the garden for help. I also found that the resident raccoon has stayed out. I am buying more product as I need to really protect my corn. This mat is a med hard plastic with upright plastic, spikes. THe mat was easy for me to cut to size around the flowers. THere are gardening pins that also come with the *kit* to pin the mat to the ground so it won't move. There are only a few pins available with the set so i bought some pins that are used for weed block. The spikes aren't painful to touch or even for an animal to get impaled . It's more of a deterrent .I suppose if the animal were large or determined they would still walk on this. I think it may be useful to detract squirrels from digging. I'll have to try this. So far, the mat has been on the areas in need,( the really peed on parts I dug the dirt up first and added sweet lime to help neutralize the pee.) the mats have been on 8 days now and I check them daily. None have been pulled up out of place and I have not seen any poop, pee? I am going to assume, none there. I am so glad I bought this ! It has saved my garden ! I recommend it. In fact, I recommended it just today to a neighbor and she trotted home quick and ordered some !!

Did not work at ALL
First of all, it took about 3 WEEKS to arrive (I know COVID has messed up shipping, but c'mon... 3 WEEKS?!). FINALLY get it and cut a couple strips to size. They clip together nicely to form a nice square mat. I was impressed with that ability. I wasn't expecting it, so that was a nice surprise that it supported that. Anyways, the reason I give it one star is that it is not an effective cat deterrent at ALL. I placed the nice square mat I had formed onto a shelf I'm trying to keep the cat off of. I had the mat in place maybe 30 seconds to a minute and he jumped right up onto it. I expected he was going to freak out and jump down or something. Nope... he just sat there looking at me like, "well this is kinda different, but meh." It had zero effect on my cat. To be super clear, he's not some kind of weird breed cat or anything. He's just a standard American medium hair house cat. I wish there was some product that might actually work for this purpose. Oh well, worth a shot. I was going to use this stuff everywhere I didn't want him jumping so I ordered 2 rolls of it. I might see if I can send back the second roll.

Works
My youngest cat is actually the queen of hell. She is something else. She doesn't bite or anything like that. She can be SUPER cuddly and adorable. But she's smart, she tries to drive us insane slowly. Her life goal is to be able to climb on the ceiling. She thinks it's fun to get in trouble for jumping on shelves, breaking things, and trying to kill my gnomes. Her cat tree goes higher than this shelf in particular also by the way. That's how you know she is doing it on purpose. People thought I was crazy when I told them I was buying spike strips for my cat. It worked. I was able to cut this with scissors though after awhile my hands started to hurt. It didn't hurt to push my hand on but it was uncomfortable and definitely got sore after a long period of time trying to move this around and cut. I have lined the tops of the trouble some shelves that she jumps on and isn't supposed to. She hasn't touched it. One corner of a shorter shelf was rolled up and she jumped up and stood on that little corner and observed very carefully and then SHE JUMPED DOWN. She hasn't even looked at the shelf since. I do have to say she stuck her head in the roll and tried chewing on it before I began this endeavor but that ended as fast as it started. There's some wierd kinks throughout the roll but it's not a huge deal. You have to lay something heavy on it for awhile to get it to stop rolling but if it's outside the staples would work perfectly fine I just can't use those in my house. This simple product has allowed us to keep our sanity at least a little longer.

Funciona perfectamente
