You will never want to use a bread knife again. This thing cuts a fresh sourdough loaf like butter. To crack the handle and effortlessly slide your bread through at a perfect, uniform slice size is kitchen bliss. It helps to use the suction cups on the bottom to keep it steady. The blade is razor sharp and will cut you if you touch it. I elected to go with this one over cons knockoffs because of good German steel that I can trust. Highly recommend.

This will cut perfect slices of any bread in any width. Much better than I could ever do by hand. I get more slices out of a sourdough.It is a very solid piece of hardware and the blade and guide work amazingly well. You can basically dial in the thickness of the bread slice and it cuts it perfectly every time and love the suction cup base, it doesn’t move or slide around when trying to slice bread.

I have been using this slicer for several months now and I love it. I make bread 2-3 times/wk and I have beautiful slices, perfect for toasting or sandwiches. Yes, I do have the problem with the suction cups not always sticking, but I have found that they work if I put the slicer on my glass top stove (make sure the top is clean). Also, I have the best success with slicing bread if the loaf has completely cooled. It is easy to clean—just tap the crumbs off and then wipe it clean with a damp towel. Do not immerse in water and don’t take it apart. This was a splurge but it has been worth every penny.

You can basically dial in the thickness of the bread slice and it cuts it perfectly every time. There is only one issue I have, and it is with the suction cup base. Suction cups simply dont work sideways which is the only problem. you have to push the loaf along the guide making it go forward and suction cups do nothing whatsoever to prevent this. I brace it against another appliance to use it and keep it from moving forward so you can work around the lateral movement.

Even though the measurements are clearly stated in the product description, just from just looking at the pics I thought it would be larger than it is - and was greatly relieved when it arrived, as it is a size that is easily stowed away. Some reviewers say the suction cups slip around on the counter, but that may depend on your countertop material as I couldn't get this to slide at all on quartz. It also is not as heavy as it looks, again a relief! All in all, a very well thought out, well made product that is a pleasure to use. Highly recommend it for serious home bread bakers.

We read other reviews about metal shavings, but hoped our device would be the exception. It wasn’t. Before using the slicer on bread, we turned the crank repeatedly and checked for shavings on the platform. When we didn’t find any, we sliced a loaf of sourdough bread. Towards the end of the loaf is when we found just a few small slivers on the platform. When we lifted the device off the counter, we found a *lot* of shavings on the counter amidst the crumbs under the slot where the blade rotates.My husband took the slicer apart and found metal shavings inside, where the handle connects to the blade. After cleaning it, reassembling, and testing it again (this time with a piece of white paper underneath), we again found small metal fragments underneath the slicer. This is a huge disappointment, as we loved how easy it was to slice the bread, but who wants to risk metal shavings falling into/onto their food? It is unconscionable that this product is on the market.
