No idea where was made. Ours been outside since before winter and still going strong, if that helps

can this be mounted onto a wooden beam?

I suppose if it was hard wood, sturdy enough to load bear and you bought the correct fixings, it would be possible. However, the fixings provided are for concrete/brick. I personally would not recommend though. Hope this helps
