Remarkable engineered piece of art. You will love it.
Greetings LEGO family! My congratulations for such a splendid LEGO set who the gifted and talented men and women of LEGO created. The LEGO Technic Rough Terrain Crane 42082 doesn’t only take me on memory lane where I was a child -- raised on LEGOs, it is remarkable. I work in the engineering sector, and this Technic Rough Terrain Crane is incredible. So, please be advised for this meticulous puzzle. When you purchase this, you will not be disappointed. Please take your time. Go slow with it. Double check each step. Carefully, check each section build, such as the gears, their shafts, movable parts, and etc. Make sure you do not miss any step. Do not take short cuts. Do not underestimate any of the many steps. Especially where there are gear levers for manipulating gears, gently move through the gears, and make sure you have correctly installed them all. If not – STOP. Go back and fix it before proceeding. One more advice: Do not underestimate the incredible decisions and designs of this set’s instructions. Follow it carefully. It’s not hard. I applaud the talented men and women of LEGO. Your LEGO Technic Rough Terrain Crane 42082 is skillfully designed by very bright engineers and artists who created a real to life workable machine and I am impressed how they can scale it down as small to fit on your kitchen table. I am amazed! In saying that! If you are still undecided on purchasing the LEGO Technic Rough Terrain Crane 42082, please say yes. You will not be disappointed. I am thrilled with my LEGO Technic Rough Terrain Crane 42082, and you will too. I would love to meet the very talented professional staff and leaders of Technic LEGO, and shake their hands, and give each one of them a big love you my friends hug. After you purchase your LEGO Technic Rough Terrain Crane 42082, you will feel the same way I do. Thank you for reading my honest and truthful remarks on my LEGO Technic Rough Terrain Crane 42082. Thank you.

awesome build with improvements
What a great build. You sort of need to know what you're doing so you don’t fault the set because you screwed up somewhere and now a chunk of the functions fail to engage. The build is split in to two booklets where the first one corresponds to the vehicle/lower section and the second has the upper/boom section. I own the bucket wheel excavator and Lego actually improved the rotational base where it’s a much smoother operation vs the bucket wheel (I tried showing the difference between the two). I myself made 2 major mistakes because I yawned through a step and them had to rip apart a completed section to fix the issue(s). When you are building the gear/clutch systems there is no room for error. Also after every major gear system you complete you can test the mechanism to make sure how it is working and makes sense before you continue on. 60% of the way through the build you coil the string/cable on the spool with the motor engaged, and at that point you can actually test almost all the major functions before the top and lower sections come together. If you build enough technic sets you learn how not to tighten some things you know need smooth operation so when you watch video of the set - or a set - moving in some jittery way it is usually a sign that a gear and axle is too tight somewhere. If you take care not to do this throughout the entire build you should end up with smooth operation. This thing can lift! My kids will probably try and attach whatever they can over time to see what it can do.

Complex Build
Lots of cool working gears and levers that make it a complex and fun build. It will make a great display for additional cars. It is very large. I didn't care so much for the car included so I went to rebrickable and found a perfect MOC just for that part of it to make a different car that fits in the trailer. Happy building.

Amazing Set!
I have many large Technic sets from the past 20 years (going back to 8448 that started my love of these), and this set is up there with my favorites. My son and I took about a week to build it, and the numerous functions, appearance, and quality are all top-notch. We are in awe how Lego makes it all come together in such an awesome vehicle. Given the set has over 4,000 pieces, it is well worth it. We recently got the 911 GT3 RS and the Mack Anthem (both fantastic), and my son actually likes this set more than those. It was challenging, but that is one of the reasons we like it so much. I highly recommend the Rough Terrain Crane!

The Perfect Vehicle To Round Out My Collection
I just finished building The Lego Technic Car Transporter today. I took me 2 1/2 days, half day for the blue car. 1 day for the front half of the transporter, & 1 day for the back half of the transporter.Tip: At the start of each build, I find that it is easier when I separate the parts by type, each in their own bin. it makes the assembly process so much easier. I do this with the every building set, bag number by bag number. After I assembled the blue car, I compared it size-wise with the MAISTO Die Cast Collectible cars that I have & I found that they are the same size, so I after had fully assembled the transporter and set it on it's own shelf I pushed each one onto the transporter as the diagram shows how to work the different knobs to work the different features.I have wanted for several years to add an Auto Transporter to my collection of Scale Model Cars & Trucks, & now I have one!

Beatup box, perfect product
This was a new sealed product, and the lego toy itself is wonderful. If you are expecting a box in perfect condition, just order it straight from lego. Mine came all the way from Germany in a beatup box that looked hastely taped together with odds and ends of cardboard. If you don't care about the box, go ahead and order it and save a couple bucks.

You wont be disappointed
Its lego... fun, moderately complex and rewarding after the build is done. Being an AFOL I had a great time building it, trying to crane all sorts of things. Good buy, great fun, worth it!
