OtterBox Symmetry Clear Series Case for iPad Pro 10.5" & iPad Air (3rd Generation) - Retail Packaging - Clear

Very good time and quality

At the time of this review, there are SURPRISINGLY few good cases for the 10.5-inch iPad Air. I was debating going with the Otterbox Defender, but I opted for this case when I saw that it is compatible with the Apple Smart Cover or Smart Keyboard attachment. In addition to durability, being able to prop up my iPad as well as having a built-in Apple Pencil holder is incredibly important to me. This case satisfies all requirements. The case is a clear, hard, plastic, so the color of the back of iPad can be shown off, and the edges are a slightly softer plastic. The softer portion of the case adds a generous lip around the glass of the iPad, and makes me feel confident that my iPad won't sustain damage if accidentally dropped. The case initially comes with a removable piece of plastic on the side where the Apple Smart Cover or Smart Keyboard can be attached. The Smart Cover fits perfectly onto my iPad, even with the Otterbox Symmetry case on it. I was actually surprised how hard it was to find this case. It's not available in any nearby stores, I didn't see it on the Otterbox website, and it has so few reviews.

This is a great case for my iPad Air! I love that they allowed compatibility for use with the Apple Smart Cover (I ordered separately for the front). The 2 together are a perfect combination! It’s not bulky but still feels protected. I was concerned it wouldn’t hold my Apple Pencil sufficiently but it actually holds it in very securely.

This product is made, just like every other otterbox item out there. But there are a few things to note: 1. It’s bulky. It adds a considerable amount of weight to your iPad. Which, for the amount of protection it provides, is worth it (to me) 2. It has a glossy finish. Which means it’s prone to scratches and catches all the fingerprints, regardless of whether or not you just washed your hands. I’ve had it for less than 24 hours and I already see a lot of scratches on mine and I don’t even remember placing it on a hard surface. 3. It’s… an awkward fit. It’s snug in some areas, and loose in others. The border surrounding the screen is incredibly secure. Great for protection, horrible for imperfectly applied screen protectors and paperlike films applied on the iPad. IT WILL PEEL OFF UNLESS YOU APPLY THE OTTERBOX CASE FIRST AND FIT THE SCREEN PROTECTOR OVER THE AVAILABLE SPACE. It’s loose in the back. The back panel creaks when you hold it lightly, or even when you have the iPad resting on its back so you can write on it. The sound gets annoying fast. (This happens even with the side attachment removed, so the noise not due to the friction.) Overall opinion: worth your money if you’re looking for security and protection for your iPad. But if little details like the ones I mentioned bother you, then you should opt for something else.

Love it! Just what I needed! No stores sell cases for the model of iPad. Easy connect to my keyboard too.

The cover looks strong. However, the buttons of the ipad, however, become extremely difficult to operate when the cover is on. The volume buttons can be operated albeit with much more force and pressure than if the cover wasn't on. The on-off button is so hard to operate that I ended up letting the ipad turn on sleep mode automatically and i wouldn't shut it off completely (this was an issue as I have the ipad in my bedroom and usually turn it completely off at night to avoid hearing noises when notifications come in). I'm very disappointed. I ended up taking the cover off and not using it --and it was an expensive item to not be able to use. Also, it seems that the window to return it was only a month, which i didn't realize so i now seem stuck with this expensive item that i can't use.

This was a replacement purchase for me, I purchased this same case with my original I pad air purchase, the original case had aged a bit over time and I was delighted to find the same model. It's a clear case but it has proven to be very protective

The item was a bit heavier than my previous case, but except the weight, it was good to use with the keyboard and apple pencils. After 3 months, however, the elastic band of the pencil holder get loose and I lost my apple pencils several times. Now the pencils holder is completed separated from the case so I need to hold the Apple Pencil separately in my back pack using a separate pencils case. It was a bad idea to use the elastic band for the pencils holder.
