Excellent Book for Technical Line Drawing and Expressing Ideas Visually
Line art, sketching, and illustration - that's what I want to develop as a new skill. This book is cover-to-cover full of exactly that kind of drawing. Some of the text is off in left field, (for instance, going a bit unreasonably formal in defining a line), but the exercises are good. The examples are outstanding. Most books on drawing seem to focused a bit too much on complicated images with granular detail, lots of shading and the like. These drawings aren't like that. These are clean, clear, and sharp. I recommend this book along with How to Draw by Roberson and Bertling as well as Drawing Ideas by Baskinger and Bardel. Also I recommend getting a free copy of the 3-D modelling software called Blender3D. But if you only want 1 book, I'd get this one - Design Drawing by Ching.

An excellent supplement for introductory architectural drawing courses
If you're familiar with Ching's basic architectural drawing texts this volume continues to illustrate the methods and science for successful architectural rendering. It's not for beginners, but complements his basic texts for the advanced student.

Best book for drafting beginners
Great book for starting drawing in the drafting field.I only give it a one because the condition of the book binding is poor. The glue is worn already and the binding is going to come off. Probably just wind up re-inforcing it anyway. 😳

Look it up online
The book has great examples. However, I wouldn’t necessarily say the investment is worth the money. I thought drawing was about finding your own style? Kind of confused about the overwhelming amounts of options on each page. What is up with that?

Broadly helpful text which I love
This is a most helpful text, supplemented with illustration and helpful exercises. I think its appeal is wider than the stated audience and would be helpful for a variety of uses, including drawing and fine art students and hobbyists. One of my most successful purchases!

Accessible clear and infirmative
A defacto guide to setting the scene, we've been using points in this book to improve our scene graph construction in 3d graphics, but it's a whole lot more for the architect, concept artist, technical draftsman even a budding amateur this rich informative and critically accessible text takes you through it all. It's critical to take a brief pass through and then cherry pick a chapter to follow closely.Along the way we are accompanied by clear diagrams (this may sound a no brainer, but sometimes technical drawing is itself hard to communicate) this text gets it right. The binding, font and style aren't daunting it's actually a welcome change of pace to study from.
