Well built Ice cream maker with some small caveats
This ice Cream Maker seems to be well built and quality made. The larger 2.5 quart bowl allows me to do my Ice Cream recipes that have 4 cups of Milk/Cream in the bases. I makes great non-dairy ice cream as well with coconut milk. The non-dairy ice cream product texture I can make with it seems undistinguishable from the recipes I make with milk and cream as well. The freezer bowl seem to get quickly down to -15 to -20 degrees F. This of course is provided to pre chilled your ice cream batch in the fridge be fore transferring to the machine. This of course is not a negative but the case with all ice-cream machines. The warmer the ice cream mixture from the start, the longer it is going to take it to churn. Which you want to avoid as you want to achieve smaller ice crystal in the ice-cream to produce a premium creamery texture which is directly affected by the time it takes to freeze your ice cream batch. This machine will a firmness of slightly more than soft serve in about 30 min and subsequent batches in 25 mins like another reviewer has mentioned. You can leave it10 min longer for a slightly firmer product but, if you want it firmer like store bought ice cream you will have to put it in a container and transfer it to your freezer for a few hours at least. This true with all creams makers, even pro models costing over $3000. Don't expect to get hard ice-cream from any machine. Ice cream cream shops that make their own ice cream transfer their batches to blast freezers after churning to get their finished product. Something I should stress is when receiving this machine or any ice cream machine through shipping do not use it for 24hrs after unpacking and placing it upright where it is going to be used. You need to let the oil and air bubbles settle back out of the compressor lines or you will damage the compressor and machine will never cool properly. Some minor negatives of the machine is that you can not easily switch modes on the machine. Switching modes turns off the compressor and it has a safety feature that prevents the compressor from damage, from being turn on and off to quickly. So if you go from chilling mode to creams mode it takes 3 min for the compressor to com back on. So this makes pre chilling the churning bowl pointless this way as it warms back up enough in 3 mins before the compressor starts working again. You could pre chill by setting it on ice cream mode and hit the pause button but, if you have it paused more than 5min it shuts off the compressor and once again makes your attempt to prechill pointless. So you can only prechill the bowl 4 mins using the pause function, while it takes the machine 8-10 mins to achieve its maximum freeze temp. If they were to fix the software so it did not shut off the compressor when changing modes or when paused for mor than 5 min than this machine would be perfect. Otherwise this is a great machine for the price.

Disappointing
Extremely slow to freeze the ice cream. Build quality seems decent though a stainless steel blade would be better. Compressor underpowered.

False Advertising
The cooling mode shows 2-3 intermittent mixing per minute, Zero times in 30 minutes and crystalized mess. Company sent a second one, same thing.

Not “Commercial” quality
This is better than all the other sub-$1000 ice cream machines available for home use. However, it is far from “Commercial” quality. Of course, it’s not meant to completely freeze the ice cream. But in general, I would say that it is only 1/3 frozen, while the remainder is still soggy. Unfortunately, it takes several hours for the ice cream to freeze after you put it in your home freezer. This degrades the quality of your ice cream.I would recommend that you spend 1/2 the price, and get a similar quality product.

fast and easy. great!
Fast. If ingredients are cold, and if you are working on a 2nd batch of ice cream (the machine is cold already,) made in less than 30 minutes. The bad reviews that say the machine didn't work, didn't freeze... I am wondering if these people did not follow Step 1 in the operating manual; "let the machine sit upright 24 hours before turning it on." Mine was delivered on it's side and no telling what all positions it had taken during transport. It IS a mini freezer and compressor oil will get into the lines when laid down. It has to be allowed to drain back into the bottom of the compressor where it belongs. Oil on a piston and switch one on, instant broken valve in compressor. Broken. No cooling.Let it sit a day and drain properly.Wonderful, quiet machine. Adjustable timer. Pumps air into the ice cream so that it scoops easily for a few days at 10 degrees below zero F.Hot machine, just plugged up on a hot day, yeah, can take close to an hour.I like how it just keeps chilling the ice cream after the stir seizes till the timer runs out. Whole family is enjoying. Easiest iced cream we have ever made. Dump in the ingredients and push START. 👍

Not cold enough
Really disappointed. This machine doesnt get cold enough to make ice cream. It takes about 1 1/2 hour to get it to a soupy soft serve, I believe the bowl is too thick and doesnt get chilled. Its a great size and easy to clean if it worked well. Unfortunately, I will be returning it.
