Weatherbeaten: Winslow Homer and Maine

I saw the pictures in this book at the Portland Museum of Art during the exhibition and let me tell you the reproductions are plentiful and right on with the original works by Homer

Also loaded with good info on his Prouts neck studio. Only caution is the image on the cover is glued on so it is easy dented, scratched, gets folds if laid flat with other books on top.

This volume is large enough to give good presentation to the pictures without being a burden.The paintings were well selected and beautifully presented. The colors are excellent.A litlle too much on the intricacies of Prout's Neck real estate.

A larger book in size would be nicer. His paintings deserve larger reproductions for the viewer.

The book was the show catalog/book for the Winslow Homer show at Portland (Maine). This book is a valuable resource. The PMA also has the Homer Winslow Studio at Prouts Neck on display. If you are a Winslow fan this book is for you.

Not just a beautiful coffee table book. This is a splendid collection

This is an excellent short history of Homer's life and career. The book is handsomely illustrated.it is a valuable addition to any collection of American art.

This book gives a glimpse in to Homer's iconic Maine works. Written by Homer scholar, Tom Denenberg, one gains a better sense of the artist's life and inspiration as he worked to depict life on the Maine coast.
