Excellent Midsize Cage!
I have two rats who are now full-grown and were very much in need of a space upgrade. I live in a small apartment, so a huge multilevel cage would not work. This cage is the perfect size for my small space and provides plenty of room for my little fatties to explore and play. I finally have space for an exercise wheel, new climbs, and other fun activities. I just moved them into it today, so I don't know yet how the plastic bottom will hold up, but so far it was super easy to assemble and it seems high quality. 10/10!3 month update: This cage is so durable and easy to take apart to clean. Still the perfect size for my 2 boys. I absolutely love it!

An exceptionally good animal habitat
This is an excellent cage. Easy to put together. No tools required. I have my chinchilla in it, and he can easily jump from one level to the next. He has been in this cage for two weeks and not once gotten his paw caught in the shelving wire. I do not use the bottom wire for fear that he will break his legs. That part doesn't claim to be nor is animal safe. The only thing I am wary of is the pan. While it does slide out to make changing the bedding a breeze, my chinchilla squeezed through the space when it was out. Luckily, I had my eye on him.

Perfect for the STO
I got this for my daughter's Short-Tailed Opposum. It is a perfect size, fits his wheel and the top platform is solid for extra hide spots. The wire is close enough that he can't escape. Also, we use puppy pads in the bottom to easily clean his cage and the bottom is high enough to protect the wheel area (doesn't get outside the cage).

Easy for sure and bigger than expected.
I looked at the measurements but it just seemed big after I put it together. I had 3 rats in a huge 2 store cage but now sense I’m down to 1 rat and taking a break after this. I can still say though she has plenty of space and is spoiled because she spends most her time with me and dad so she’s not alone if you have rats that chew though not a good idea! Oh also my instructions came cut in half glad it was easy to figure out without them 😂

Not for HAMSTERS!!!
For larger animals this would be fine. However the product descriptions states it can be used with hamsters. Unfortunately the top lid of the cage is not secure. A small animal like a hamster can push its way through the opening. At the bottom the bottom tray does not fit snuggly in the cage, so again a hamster can climb over the tray and escape from the large gap at the bottom (which is a large opening to remove the tray). The positive side is the bars are spaced tightly so if you modify the cage as we did with zip ties and seal off the bottom it can work. However, when you buy a new item marketed for a particular purpose, you do not expect to have to rig it to work. Hamsters should be removed from the description. Also, the two levels are made of rails not plastic so the animals feet fall through frequently and it is not comfortable for the animal.

was easy to assemble (although it does not come with directions) ...
Arrived quickly, was easy to assemble (although it does not come with directions) and makes it a quick job to change litter due to the slide-out plastic pan under the cage. The bars are spaced 1/2" apart, making it ideal for rats. The two doors allow easy access to all levels on the inside of the cage. The metal itself is quite durable. The only problem I have with it is that the shelves don't fit very snugly against the outer walls of the cage. It doesn't make the cage dangerous at all, but the shelves are a bit bouncy as a result. I also didn't want my rats to be walking solely on the metal bars, so I cut some adhesive floor tiles to fit the cage and stuck them over about half of the walking surfaces. Overall, this cage is worth the money (and even the $20 shipping fee.) My 3 rats are very happy in it.

Spacious, easy to clean, not for gnawers
I love this cage - it’s spacious, the tall plastic base contains all mess, the wide doors make for easy daily cleaning. We adopted two adult female rats and this cage was great at first. The bar spacing is smaller than other similar sized cages, so the rats were secure. However, I realized that they were gnawing at the plastic corners. After 3 weeks, they made a hole large enough to escape through. I had previously kept 2 adult rats in a very similar cage and they never chewed on it. If you know you have gnawers, choose a different cage.
