Small size issue but works great
I originally ordered the 34 size and had to return it and get a 36 instead because they were really short. I trusted some of the previous reviews about the pants running very large (I usually wear 34x34s) but that was not the case for me. At 6'4", when standing straight up in standard sneakers the 34 pants were about 4" above my shoes and much higher when sitting down. The 36 pants work much better even though some of my socks are still showing when sitting down. Unfortunately I could not get a size even larger because the waist waist would have started to sag too much. All in all I really like the pants, they seems strong and are very comfortable. The reinforcement is mainly for design purposes and the seams could be a little stronger, they certainly aren't as good as the Columbia or The North Face versions of hiking pants like this but they are a very good value.

great pants for hot weather...
i was iffy about buying these pants based on some reviews i read (lots of bad sizing and sewing around the crotch failing). i finally bought a pair when i caught a good deal (i dont think they are worth the full asking price). they are made of a very light weight material and seem like they will do great for summer camp outs, im not sure of the value of the stretch material, it really doesnt seem necessary or making a big deal, its completely worthless around the cuffs as the material its sewn to denies it that ability, but around the knees its kind of neat, just not so sure its all that useful. also know that any belt used with them must be under 1.75in wide or it wont fit (the two snap closed belt loops will easily pop open). they do look kinda weird, but they do feel very airy and comfortable, i will likely be using them for summer/hot weather use, for that they are awesome. also know that these pants are sized a little small as far as the waist goes so order them a size or so larger than your normal waist size...

Feels like your not even wearing pants
Wow, just wow. The fabric of these pants are so light weight, and it dries super fast. The knees and all the stretch material I'll be honest I was really worried about. It feels so thin and stretchy. I've read other reviews of poor stitching on the crotch and seem areas and I noticed mine hade what look like a loose stitching in it. However wash it before you go out. It seem to make the stitching shrink and sucre it to the pants, if that makes and sense. These pant however ended up taking a bit more abuse the first time I went out than I expected them to. But they held up perfectly fine. The knees are so breathable, walking on the trail feelike like your not wearing any pants at all. When it come to hiking on hot and humid Fl in the 80's it's perfect. I love these pants. $50 was a tough price to swallow especially when their are much better tactical pants out their (5.11, Blackhawk, tru-spec) however the one thing that seperates bear grylls pants is the flexibility, breathability, and super lightweight. For camping, hiking, or just a walk through the woods, bear grylls has nailed it.

I've bought tons and tons of " tactical " or survival type pants trying to find ones that dry fast , last long and most of all are comfortable.. and these are by far the absolute best pants i've ever owned. these are one of a few pairs i have purchased and as long as you don't get the cheap walmart version they are great. Strong and fit like a well broke in glove. i can't say enough good things about them. and i actually use mine for what their intended for and they hold up great.

Love the pants, quality a bit iffy
I LOVE these pants. They're super comfortable, a softer material than expected (i expected them to be parachute style), and the dark bits you see on the seat, knees and calf are a super stretchy cottony material. They breathe great, and have enough extra room for an insulating layer in winter. My only complaint (and why I gave 4 stars vs 5) is the threading is a bit cheap. I haven't had them 3 months and I've had to resow a button, on the inside of the belt line no less (so it couldn't be getting much wear- and i don't wear a tight waistline), The threading on the thighs and around the hips scares me too-feels like it will wear soon.Love the techy look and comfortable feel, I just wish they were of a better quality (especially considering the price tag!)

These Are GREAT!!!
Got these for my son-in-law, who is a big Bear Grylls fan. Originally bought some from somewhere else (these were a Christmas gift) in regular sizing as opposed to the Short, and they were the strangest fitting things ever. They seemed like very poorly cut seconds. They were super long and skinny in the legs and ballooned out through the crotch and pockets. I come from a family where my shortest brother is 6'2", so it isn't that I think pants need to be cut short or petite, it's just that these particular ones were strange. I returned them, but kept looking for a Bear Grylls pant he would like. When I searched here on Amazon, the reviews for the Bear Grylls pant were the same as what I just stated. AND THE SHORT CUT WAS NOWHERE IN SIGHT!!! WHY IS THAT AMAZON? Anyway, I spend many hours on this sight, and just happened to STUMBLE on the short Trouser!!! It was NOT tied to the regular sized ones the way different sizing usually is. It is as if this is an entirely different pant. The colors are the same, but the cut is not just shorter, it is much fuller through the leg, and the quality appears to be much better also. It seams to come from a different manufacturing location or something. But the bottom line is, this trouser seams to be AWESOME! And although they are pricey for a very lightweight trouser, Bear Grylls trousers have a lifetime warranty. Pretty much the bomb.

Awesome
I Love Watching Bear Grylls on the TV. but I hate to go around wearing his products and looking like an obsessive fan-boy, but these pants are worth it, they're are super confortable they move with your movment and dry very quickly, however they're not very warm which is to be expected for the thin material they use, A little on the pricy side but well worth it in long run. Oh and it's one of those type's of pants which has pockets in pockets too. (Which I personally like)

These trousers are superb for outdoor activities, the fit is slightly tailored which is great no excess material to get snagged or cause any chaffing. The material is light weight and they're really good when soaked through, they remain comfortable allowing you to crack on! They dry very quickly and seam to shed the dirt as you go these trousers will survive the tumble dryer and won't look a mess when not ironed, I really love them they perform very well much better than any other competitor I've tried.

these trousers are absolutely awesome! They are lightweight
WOW, these trousers are absolutely awesome! They are lightweight, when they get wet they dont suck up the water, and i have caught already a dozen times on spikey bushes and the have not ripped a bit!One of the best trousers for hiking and climbing around, although you have to remember the are NOT warm, so not really designed for cold weather but they are nearly 100% windproof. The only negative aspekt i could find was the two of the beltloops, where you can put your belt through, are fastened by buttons and sometimes get unclipped but that not really a big drama.Anyway great product- definatley worth buying.
