Ok
To me this was an "okay" short story. There are much better writers out there for this genre, but not the worst I've read either. Rather simple, not very creative or expanded character development.

Great book!
The characters felt very real, for the era of fighting against the German regime! So many lives were saved, thanks to the Resistance movement.

I loved this!
Catriona's War is very different from what Jean Grainger Usually writes. It's dark and suspenseful and very, very good. I'd love for a series of related books.

Very interesting!
Worded and planned very well. War stories are always sad, but it was a very good read with lots of characters, good and bad and keeps you reading on. It ended well which always helps. I would recommend it to anyone as Jean always has a good story to tell. Love her books!

ANOTHER GOOD READ BY JEAN GRAINGER
I have read every book written by this wonderfully talented author and this novella about young Catriona McCarthy, is just one more example of Ms. Grainger's talent as a writer. I read the book in two nights because it was short but more honestly because I couldn't put it down. Catriona's father is Irish and her late mother was French and she spent 12 years in a boarding school in Belgium and was thus tri-lingual (French, German, English). When her father, a war correspondent and member of the underground went missing, the French underground contacted Catriona in London where she was living to help them continue the work her father had started in "turning" a Nazi officer who hated Hitler, the Nazi party and what they had done to his beloved country. The book was fast moving, suspenseful, the dialogue realistic and characters richly drawn. The action was believable if you have read anything about WWII and the French underground and the actions of the Nazis to pursue and obliterate them. A very good read by a superb author whose work I will continue to follow.

Excellent as always!
Wow this author is so good at keeping her reader on the edge of the seat! Compelling story with very compelling characters. I always learn things about history about which I have never cared haha!

Short but packs a punch
I really enjoyed this book. Sadly too short, but having said that, it might have been cos I couldn't put it down and certainly didn't leave anything out. I think this was her best story so far.

WW2 shot epic story where the Irish nearly won the war (did I say that?) a good read.
As with all Jean Granger books very nice. It was almost a short long story ( if there is such a thing). The central character could have been anyone of her central female characters in one of her many good books. Almost a lady James Bond. Nice read...thank you.
