Great item!
I first purchased this in August 2015. I had to repurchase in June 2016 because my son yanked it off the wall and it just wouldn't stay. It's now April 2019 and I'm purchasing another. My roommate now has yanked it off the wall and it won't stay up longer than a minute or two with full pressure water.I need this item because I have a small stall shower and if I use a regular shower head water will get everywhere. With this I can position the half held shower head straight down. Minimal water gets on the floor.

doesn't stick well
Great idea, but.fancy suction cup doesn't hold well or for a long time.I like the flex arm and it holds the shower head really well. Would have given 5 stars if it stuck better. This is in a rv with smooth plastic walls, should stick, have other stick on holders that work.Ended up screwing it to the wall.Worked well for a month then the arm became loose and then used a plastic pipe hanger fix it now it works, just looks redneck.

non-flexible plastic holder
Haven't used it yet, I like that you can try it out before making it permanent, but it is plastic, so I don't think I'll want to make it permanent. I thought the stem was flexible, it looks like it is, but it isn't. Sooo, not a great buy.Update: It isn't flexible, but it does have a good suction cup, it stands straight up, from the wall, not slanted as it appears in the picture. So the water pours straight out. I use it to hold the shower head while I shave my legs. I put the holder sideways and put the shower head in so it points down at the floor. That way I can rinse the razor as I go without having to turn around or turn the water on and off. It is also designed to easily change its position as needed. If the suction gets weak it has a way to tighten it up again.

Good work, Britta,
This holder is nicely made and it does exactly what is needed to securely hold a shower head where ever it is to be placed. There are some caveats. First, the wall surface that it is to be attached to must be smooth and flat. My shower stall is a preformed vinyl and is perfect for this unit. The typical 4" by 4" glazed ceramic tile would also be a good choice. The second is that the hose for your shower head must fit the opening in the holder. The hose on my shower head, which is of the armored style, fits but it is tight. I often wonder when ordering why there is a dearth of dimensions to help decide if the product will work for me. For those who are curious about this I took some measurements to share with you. The base that attaches to the wall has a diameter of 2-13/16". If the flat surface is less than this, it might not work. The diameter of my hose is 0-9/16". If your hose has a greater diameter, you might need a different hose. The suction device works well and thus far no problem with it coming loose.

Doesn't Work Without User Modification
This product didn't work but I gave it two stars because I like how it looks and I was able to modify it so that it does work.I bought this because it was the nicest looking alternative on Amazon. Many reviews said it didn't work but I'd seen that before and Id always been lucky. No luck here - the thing broke in the first week. More on that in a moment. The device is plastic with a faux chrome finish. But it looks nice and in my experience these finishes hold up pretty well. I imagine I'll get a year or two of use out of it.Now, the problems:The device didn't stick. I have smooth tiled in my shower that are large enough to fit the entire based without touching grout. I was careful to clean and dry the tile and to keep the rubber on the device clean and dry as well. I gave it a few pumps every time I was in the shower, as recommended by another reviewer, but the thing wouldn't stick. I didn't try it on my glass shower wall because I didn't like that placement. So, for me, the device was an epic fail on its number one intended purpose. Also, the arm broke. It became loose almost right away where it attaches to the base causing it to lean forward which dropped the shower head unto the ground. Pretty bad, huh?So I fixed it. I used Crazy Glue on the arm so that it stayed in place. Then I used 3M permanent mounting tape to mount it onto the tile wall. Caulked around the base so that water won't get in and decay the tape and I think I'm good. I figure when it's time to remove it the fault and tape can be easily scraped off of the tile.So now I'm happy, it doesn't look bad, and my six year old loves taking showers by himself. As long as I remember to place the shower head back on his holder after I'm done with it we're good.If you want an easy solution that just works I wouldn't recommend this. If you're a bit handy then go for it.

Makes giving the kids a bath so much easier!
When giving the kids a bath, I had to keep turning off the shower head and standing to put it into the high holder; or I had them hold it for me which usually ended up with water being sprayed everywhere. I saw this product and bought a whim -- what a game changer!I positioned it low so I don't have to keep getting up. It is aimed at an angle into the tub so I leave the shower head on and the kids get a little warming water on their bodies while I am doing their hair but no water comes out. It works wonderfully and bathtime is so much easier. The push-button is easy and the resultant suction is REALLY strong and holding great to my smooth Corian surface. Just in case though, when bathtime is over I move the showerhead back into the built-in holder.

Looks nice, but pretty much useless
I spent extra to get the chrome look to match my decors. However, the first thing I notice after putting it on the wall is that the hinge falls out. It's not strong enough to stay in place with the shower head plugged in. The suction only last a day or so and then falls off. Just ordered "Mommy's Helper Safer Grip Portable Shower Arm" as it looks more durable.Pros: Looks nice. Easy to install.Cons: Arm falls off. Suction last only a day or 2.
