So disappointed in this book
I do not know why people gave this book 5 stars. I read the reviews and thought this is the book for me. I, as well, created my first website using Front Page. So, when this book mentioned where this program sits between FP and Dreamweaver, I got the program and bought this book due the good reviews. Must have been his friends.! This is a small book and does not help you at all in understanding the concept. All it works with mostly is templates. You really do not learn much from this book. In fact, I ended up removing Expression Web4 and went for Dreamweaver, and it is not that hard. Websites today are built in a similar fashion using a program, if you do not know much about HTML coding, etc.. I am familiar a little bit with familiar with HTML but very little.....just to get around a tad. This book does not even start with creating a new website or other starting essentials. You learn absolutely nothing. Huge disappointment and I just threw my money away.

Incredibly good to get started!
I'm a web writer used to using FrontPage and Dreamweaver. This books sits right in the middle between the two; not as easy as FrontPage and much easier than Dreamweaver. When my employer chose Expression 4 I was worried. Oh boy a whole new software to learn. I was lost from the beginning! I bought this book and Sams Teach Yourself EP4 in 24 hours. This one was SO much easier. I received the book on Thursday afternoon and had a fairly complex looking site almost done on Friday afternoon. This book is a good starting place and I so love it! It is worth the money. Yes, there are a few little things that are confusing...it isn't brain surgery but it is harder than counting to 10

Well worth the price
This book is not comprehensive -- but it is refreshingly clear, cut through the techno-babble, and got me going in Expression Web, which is more than I can say for the other books I consulted. While it may not make you an expert user, it will get you started -- I could not have managed without it.

Good book...
Good reading. Really didn't help much to the problem I was experiencing, but did learn a few things. If you are doing a brand new website, then this may the book for you. However, I was converting from Frontpage to Impression Web4 and this book doesn't really cover this topic.

The book is mostly about how to set up a site from a template. I was hoping it would explain more about the features and functions of Expression Web. The information is there, but it is very hard to pull out.

Great starting point
This book is great for beginners, which includes me. It's easy to read and integrate the information into a website project. The book offers a basic starting point providing a foundation upon which to build one's fund of knowledge.I highly recommend it.

How to Build a Website Fast Using EW
Good, well presented book. I find, however, that if one wishes to make even the smallest modification to the suggested template that it is necessary to watch the video that the author presents on his website as this information is not contained in the book. Excellent text for the very basic novice user. On that level a good investment.

Very good for beginners
Its exactly what it claims to be, Im not sure why people arnt happy about what they got, its clearly states its intent and depth of learning. I personally loved its basic outline, thats all I need to get started nothing more nothing less. I would recommend to anyone looking to begin building sites. Someone said not enough info for $8!! Are you kidding me, its $8 folks!

Fast is the operative word
I had created sites before, but never with Expression Web; this helped me get a site up in a few hours. So it "does what it says on the tin." I also like the way it cuts to the chase - there is none of the 'if you want a sentence in bold, highlight it and click the bold button' type garbage you get in many beginners' books. This does you the credit of assuming you have a functioning brain. It is very, very basic. Essentially it's about creating the structure of a website using templates and then removing, renaming or adding pages as desired. There is not much on putting content in those pages. If you run into a problem, you can't look up the answer in the index because there is no index. The section on uploading your site assumes you use GoDaddy as your host, so if you have another host, you're left with a fair bit of guesswork and trial and error. It served my purpose so I can have no complaints, but I see alternatives on Amazon's Books - Expression Web page that look much more attractive, especially at current rock-bottom prices. I have, indeed, myself just bought the Chris Leeds book on EW4, which at £5.52 should be a far better bet.

Good book
Good little book, and has some information that other books don't cover very well. Typically, this is used with other books.
