Mastering AutoCAD 2016 and AutoCAD LT 2016: Autodesk Official Press

Great publication for learning AutoCad 16.

It's a great guide and if you're using it to learn autocad 16 from the beginning, it's probably about as good as it gets. If you already use autocad the format is a little sketchy, as it assumes you're building on the project(s) they have you create in the book At least for me, it would be better if it were written a bit more "generically."

The book made it reasonably easy to find the changes made to the AutoCAD software and learn how to set up the software to have the earlier style operation.

Too complicated, almost is written as an inside joke. All based on questionable format changes that are based on continuing sales, rather than maintaining a good useful product...job justification.

The quality of the written material and exercises is excellent. The coverage of the complex Autocad program is well done. The issue I have is with the quality of the printing. This, of course, is not the authors' fault. The book is printed on low quality paper and many of the pictures are impossible to discern. I understand printing in color is prohibitively expensive, and most textbooks nowadays are printed in black and white. But the quality of many of the pictures in this book is so bad that you can't see anything. Anything. How does that help you learn to use the software? Yes, the book has online resources, but when you pay $60 for a printed version, you want to actually use the printed version. I would give the authors 5 stars, but I'm being generous giving the book itself a 3 star rating.

this book helps me with my college class

Great as either a teaching tool or a reference guide. I learned AutocCAD in school, but the last version I used was 2010. This book helped get me up to speed and answered the basic questions quickly (and I have only read 60%).

As big of program as AutoCAD is this manual helps to work through it. It cannot cover everything but it gives you very good start to work through the software and how to do things.
