Needs Some Improvement. Great Nut Cracker
Just got it. I see a problem that might of caused some of the complaints about the product. The knife edge recess is too small and the blade will NOT sit in the recess. Causing some uneven pressure on the blade and housing. See photo. I filed the recess for a perfect fit. I will try cracking some nuts later.Five stars for nut cracking after the adjustment. I have a restoration project for a ships wheel at a museum. The base was rusty steel with four 1/2" studs with two nuts per stud holding the ships wheel down. Took about a half an hour. Great product. Nuts removed. No damage to threads. Note 1/2' bolt is about the maximum for this tool as some room is needed for the nut to expand. Picture enclosed.

Doesn't fit in tight spaces
I bought this to take the bolts off a Catalytic converter, unfortunately the bolts were too close to the pipe and this tool would not fit around them. This is something I did not foresee when I bought it. I am saving it in case I need it but check the clearance around the bolt you are looking to remove as this might not fit. A measured drawing of the item showing actual size would be helpful to people who are considering this for a project.

Good tool with minor annoyance
Haven't had the chance to use it yet, but appears to be of good quality. One annoyance is that the pointed anvil is loose, when you flip the device over, it falls right out, even with the device fully closed. Not a concern when in use, but I feel like I might lose this small part before I get a chance to use the tool! It doesn't help that it doesn't come with a case.

I am sure it would have worked fine if I could have gotten it on the nut I needed to crack, but there was not enough room between the nut and a post next to it to fit this nut cracker. I had to get a C-Frame nut cracker to fix my problem. Again, there was nothing wrong with this item, it would just not fit my particular situation.

Worked very well with rusted 3/4 inch nut
It worked very well to remove a rusted 3/4 nut that would not move even after applying penetrating lubricant for several days. I was worried about using it with a large nut, near the maximum size limit. It only took a few minutes to crack the nut. There was no damage to the bolt. It was very easy to remove the nut once it cracked. It arrived just one day after ordered with two day delivery.

Required significant effort to tighten down and still didn't work.
I was trying to split a rusted nut on my boat trailer and this thing didn't even come close. I was using my full body weight on the wrench to tighten this thing down and chisel part barely cut into the nut. However, the other side created a nice round indentation in the nut. I was trying to just remove the nuts and salvage the u-bolts, but now I'm just going to use an angle grinder and cut it all off and start from scratch.

Worked fine. Can pivot off nut so tight location can be problematic. Though not sure what would be any better.

Nope
Didn’t work. It’s a 40 year old nut weld, but still.
