I was surprised!
I am redoing my landscaping and bought these spikes to go along with the no-dig boarder. I only got one box because I wasn't sure how well they would hold up. I was very surprised! They work great! They are easy to use with a rubber mallet and pushed into the ground wonderfully without any bending at all. I bought 3 more boxes to finish my project. I got them when they were on sale, so great value for the price!

Work Great for Securing Plant Frost Fabric
This review is for Dimex EasyFlex 8-Inch Nylon Spiral Landscape Edging Anchoring Spikes. I use the spikes for staking down 10 ft. x 15 ft. frost protection fabric covers over my front and back yard plants. The spikes appear to be more than sturdy enough to penetrate the soil without breaking. I am located in Central Texas, USA and the ground in my yard is typical grass and plant soil and did not require the use of a hammer to stake down the cover. The Dimex EasyFlex 8-Inch Nylon Spikes I received are exactly as described and worked for me with no issues. YMMV

They're stakes, but they are also plastic, and not cheap
I recently chose to refurb a few patio areas around my house which involved removing some existing edging and replacing it. That meant digging up the old edging, re-leveling the area, then installing the new stuff. Proactively I purchased a 100 ft continuous roll of Dymex edging, which came with a bunch of these, but I also elected to buy more just to have. Note that I believe with their edging they *estimate* you'll put one every 4 feet or so, which is laughably few, so you'll wind up needing more stakes if you want the edging to keep the form you install it at. To my surprise when pulling out the old edging, the stakes used then (16 years ago), while a bit corroded, were still somewhat usable. I re-used some of them when installing the new edging. By the time I was through about 3/4 of the 100 ft roll, I had run out of the included stakes PLUS this pack. I wound up using a stake every other hole in the edging which I would say is every 4" or so. For the last 25 feet or so (different section of patio), not wanting to wait for another order of these to come in, I just went down to the hardware store and bought landscaping timber stakes - basically 8" long gigantic nails, similar to what I pulled out of the ground. I'll say that while the nylon versions are pretty stiff, they are still plastic. If you happen to graze a stone or root int he dirt, the plastic versions will simply "bounce" and flatten the tip. Not a single one of the metal stakes I used did that, and it also felt like they "grabbed" more while pounding in - that is, I could tell they would hold the edging better by how much force it took to hammer them into the ground. If I were to do it again, I'd just get a megapack of the landscape timber stakes - even purchasing singles the price per stake was about the same as this (58 cents/ea). If I wanted to buy 100 they would be even cheaper. So what if they rust? I'll tell you what - the old edging was VERY difficult to remove - I have a feeling that the corrosion actually helps the spikes grip the ground better, too.

My go-to stakes. Extremely sturdy with reliable holding power.
I have ordered and used about 600 of these at this point, and at a fraction of the cost per stake of buying them from the big box home improvement stores. I am using these to secure flexible landscape edging around trees and shrubs, as well as secure paver edging. I also use them for string line work on landscaping projects as they hold in the ground so well, I can tension long string lines as tight as needed without the stake pulling out. The primary complaint with stakes like this is durability. Cheap quality stakes bend, crack or break when hammering in. These simply do not, other than getting halted or bend if hitting a large rock below or after attempting to continue to pound them into a large tree root. I have hit many tree roots when hammering these in. On smaller roots they hammer in, and go through it, just like a metal nail would. The spiral design does a great job of resisting stake pull out. Many of the stakes I have used have been in the ground for years, all still holding strong and none breaking later. I very highly recommend these.

I Just Keep Buying More.....
I have purchased this item twice now and i wish I had written a review the first time around. This product is super simple to install. The first purchase I used this for setting landscaping edging for mulched in area in the front of the house. It was easy enough in standard soil to just hand push these in. The second time using these I used for paver edging, so I was going to be pounding these through a crushed stone base. Again for most I was able to hand push these in, while a few required the use of a rubber mallet. The holding strength on these is exceptional and if you do need to remove it requires a bit of pulling, but still pretty easy to do. Both times I purchased the 144 case at 69.99 from Amazon, which I feel is a great value for the quantity and the cost per spike. It drops the per spike rate to at about 50 cents a spike. There are number of similar option available but at a much higher cost per spike. I would not pay over the 50 cent per spike rate on these. I have enough uses, maybe not now, but soon enough that it is worth buying in the larger quantity. These are good for staking down other items as well. I have tried some big box store methods of staking and none have matched these and at the price they are available here. I would continue to buy these in the 144 quantity as need arises if the pricing remained @ $69.99 Great value, great product.

Excellent quality and very easy to hammer down in your lawn. My lawn edging kit came with insufficient amount of spikes and I needed more to complete my backyard project. I ordered these spikes and they were way better quality than the ones that came in the kit. It’s made of strong plastic which made hammering a breeze, much easier than my kit spikes. For the price, these are excellent value and way cheaper than ones sold at Home Depot (Vigoro brand).

Great for what they are intended to do

Just the right length and size for pinning anything down in the garden. We made a walkway with pallet wood and drilled holes with these spikes holding them all down nicely.

I bought these to use to hold pathway boards in place, nailing them into the ground, they worked well
