Finally found a safety pin not made in China!
I grew up helping my mom with my younger siblings, and that included changing cloth diapers. I never had a problem with safety pins bending or snagging fabric. I used cloth diapers on my three children; safety pins were still sharp and sturdy. I took sewing and tailoring classes and eventually ran the wardrobe of a student ballet company. Safety pins were still reliable back then. And then the manufacturing of most safety pins got outsourced to China. Brand new major brand safety pins would routinely bend and even snag fabric. A name brand that used to be trusted would have about 3 out of 4 safety pins that I couldn't even use once! So I started looking for safety pins made anywhere but China. I found an online company that sold good pins and I bought them by the 10 gross pack. But when I went looking for more in a different size a few weeks ago, that company had changed suppliers, and I ended up with a 10-gross box of size 3 pins made in China; the ones I tested were inferior and are going to be shipped back to the seller. So where do you go for help? You type "safety pins not made in China" into an amazon search. And you come up with these. Hallelujah! These pins are sharp. They are not quite as sharp or sturdy as the pins of my youth, but they are the best I have found in recent history, and I will be buying more from this company when I need more.

Thank goodness for these
If anyone has ever bought safety pins at the fabric (or other) store lately, they are made in China. In my experience, they're ultra thin and don't remain closed. They were driving me crazy, so I got online to see if safety pins were still made in the USA. These are! Color doesn't really matter, but I got gold so I could easily tell them apart from the puny Chinese ones, which are going in the trash (where they belong) as I come upon them. These are the safety pins of yore--strong wire and remain closed when you close them. It's worth the extra trouble to find and sometimes more expense to buy Made in USA products.

Surprisingly Unsharp
Not at all sharp! Totally surprising based on reviews. Maybe I ended up with a bad batch?? They do seem sturdy. I’ll give them that. But not suitable for my needs. I am returning them.

American Made!!!
My little girl makes jewelry. However, other safety pins gave her rashes. I realized why, the pins she used were not American made. I got her these. No more rashes. For her, this was a valuable lesson; Whenever possible, buy American!

Pins keep socks together in washing machine
I use these pins to fasten together pairs of socks before they go into a washing machine. That way mates stay together.

Sturdy, useful gold safety pins
These pins are made in the USA, it says, and that makes one feel good about buying them. They are sturdy, and they are a pretty, gold color. I can see using these in lots of crafts and quilting. I used them to make a four-person dragon costume, and they looked like decorative scales while also holding lots of the costume together. They are large enough that my elderly hands can work with them easily.
