Great purchase!
This phone set is wonderful! It does so much more than the older ATT phone I replaced it with! I especially like the following features:The ability to block calls. This is a sanity saver, as even though I am on a no call list, we are constantly bombarded with soliciters, political calls, and scams. The capacity to block up to 250 callers sounds like overkill, but in the short time I've had the phone set I have blocked over 100 callers already! And, it is so easy to block callers!I also appreciate the audio caller ID. Contrary to the advertisement, it does NOT verbalize the number, it says the name of the caller. And, if you put a caller in your directory it announces THE NAME YOU GIVE THE NUMBER instead of the name the phone company gives, so for family members, instead of saying "out of area" or something, it says their name as you enter it in the directory.Another feature I love is that you can perform all operations from any cordless unit. My old system, if you wanted to replay a message, you had to use the base, but on this system you can replay it from any unit. There are a couple of hangups, for me at least. I don't hear very well (we are in our seventies), and though the ring is nice and loud, the loudest setting on the speakers is still not very loud. More volume hear would be appreciated. The other difficulty, with us being "senior" folks, is the rocker switch with which you make or answer a call or page another unit. My wife just cannot catch on to this, and still presses the top of the rocker, which just pages another cordless unit, when she is trying to make a call. There are buttons for most of the things, and buttons here would help solve a senior problem. In summary....it's a great set, and I'm really glad I purchased it.

This is a nice phone - I'm not sure what you say about ...
This is a nice phone - I'm not sure what you say about phones? Cordless phones are cordless phones, you know? I bought this mainly because of all the (swear word here) solicitaion calls I get constantly from political idiots, charities, morons who are in India, can't pronounce my name, swear their name is "Patrick" and try to tell me my computer has a virus they need $350 to fix. This phone, mercifully, blocks 250 numbers which is a ton more than most others out there (which is why I bought this particular phone.) If a number calls that you don't know, one-touch of a key puts them on the You Know What list and blocks them. Life is Good.Another feature I like very much is how you can page each handset in the manner of using them as walkie-talkies but I think most phones do this. This one also has a "baby monitor" feature; one of the handsets will activate if the baby cries and let you know, via your handset, that they're awake. This also comes in handy for - putting by the door to hear when an errant teenager finally pulls into the garage (not that I'd use it for that..) , or if a sick dog starts to shuffle around a lot instead of sleeping, etc. The LED display is large and adjustable - again one of the few that I've encountered that is truly readable. The talking Caller ID is a hoot but usually pretty accurate. You can listen to caller's messages from your handset if you missed a call and are outside, say, and the handset will show you on the Display that there's a call. You can also synch it to your cell phone so that your cell calls come to your phone. Lots of nice features. One more great one - a handset locator button which will send a signal to the handsets (I have 4 that I constantly lose as i carry them all over the place). Problem is it is short, and you have to run..RUN...and turn each handset on and off to get the signal to stop so you can hear the others. Which you won't, because the signal has stopped. This gets to be like a frantic Monty Python skit, hitting that "locate" button and then running all over trying to fin handsets. My suggestion - take the ones you DO have and put them IN THE FRIDGE so you don't hear them "hum" and you can locate the handsets you can't find. Stop laughing, I'm dead serious. You'll thank me late.r Just don't forget to remove them. The only thing I really, really hate is that if you check your messages, and then want to make a call, you can't The handset and phone will say "Busy". This lasts, I'm going to say, at least 30 seconds and holds anything up that you need to do. It is ridiculous. If you get a message and want to call the person, you cant. There are several scenarios where I've looked at the caller ID on the "base" and then you have to stand there waiting for the phone system to allow you to use the phone. Really stupid flaw. So, it's a phone, it works, there's some very nice features that I didn't find in other phones and I did shop around. Don't know what to tell you, but yes, it's nice. It does the job, I like it. Except for the "busy" thing it's a nice buy that I made after looking at quite a few.

Best Phone Ever!!
Bought this phone as a replacement for another Panasonic Cordless phone. There was no problem with the original one; only that I could only block 30 phone numbers from spammers. This new phone is terrific! It claims that you can block 250 numbers. I'm not sure how accurate that is but it's blocked all the numbers I've stored in their since receiving the phone. Blocking a number is a breeze. There is a Call Block button on the base unit and also each of the headsets. Just push that button while the call is incoming and then follow the prompts and it's all taken care of. If you don't happen to be available when the call comes in, you can easily edit and put the number in the Call Block list.If you get a subsequent call from a blocked number, the phone will ring once but you can also turn off that ring so all you hear is blessed silence. I remember one day when the phone didn't ring at all. I looked at the headset display and saw that actually 5 calls had tried to get through but since I had the ring turned off for blocked calls, the phone never rang.I have seen other reviews stating that the batteries that come with the phone are not strong enough but they are just fine for me. I am able to keep the handset off the charger base all day long and then return it to the charger at night. I've actually had it off the base for 2 days total and it still has a charge in it. There is no voice distortion on either end; what I hear or my speaking. This is one great phone!!
