Toss the halogen and get the 2W LED to replace it!
Yes, the lens is plastic. Not an issue. Mine have been out for over a year and still look great! I pop them off and wash them off every so often to keep them clean. I bought "CBConcept UL-Listed MR11 GU4.0 LED Light Bulbs, 10-Pack, 2 Watt, Dimmable 230 Lumen, Pure White" LED bulbs in the 10 pack and they put out MORE light with LESS power consumption than the halogens. They are fantastic in this configuration and I have been MORE than happy with the set up. If you run the fixture flat onto the ground and run the halogen bulbs, they will fog up the lens from ground moisture. I have LED, so none of that problem.Best value for the money. Several people had complained about the connector used to attach these to the underground wire - you have to align it properly AND before you screw the two halves together, you have to press the wire firmly onto the metal spikes. If you just throw the wire across the opening and crank down on the screws, you'll bend over the spikes and have to straighten everything out to start over.

Surprisingly good - Malibu light replacements
I am a very skeptical shopper, and I'm also pretty cheap. I usually want to spend the least amount of money and get a great product. I think I've found the perfect combination in this light. As of this writing I'm purchasing some more. I really hope I don't have to update this review with bad news. But, so far it's working great.BACKGROUND:I bought these November 1st and have had them for 4 months. I originally purchased a Malibu low voltage lighting set to use in my landscaping. Out of the 5 Malibu lights, 4 stopped working. In fact, the Home Depot near my house stopped carrying the product. I needed a replacement and stumbled across these lights. I was skeptical about the price, but decided to purchase as a test. I needed a new light that was hopefully compatible with other low voltage systems.LIKES:Compatibility with existing Malibu low voltage system.Durability - These 2 Moonrays have been working very well through a colder than normal Pacific NW winter.Installation - I can't over emphasize how easy this was. This uses a different method than the traditional pinch-connection (Malibu and Hampton Bay). Moonrays uses a small flat box that sandwiches the wiring to make a solid connection. I installed both in 15 minutes wearing my pajamas.DISLIKES:Maybe the lead wire to the fixture could be longer. But I'm being super nitpickyThe flat wiring connection box (1"x 2" x 1/2") might be too bulky for some people. But I easily covered mine with mulch.

Same look as those one u got from Lowe’s but u may have to splice wires to install them
They look good. Perfect replacement for the Malibu ones I got at Lowe’s/Home Depot. However the little box connector is crap. It is designed for u to line both wires up in the box and then u will screw on the top that is supposed to pierce both wires with connector strips inside the little box. Bit the metal points are too weak, and they bend right over instead of going into the two wires. I had to splice the light wire onto my old Malibu connectors. So bottom line is they r good if u don’t mind splicing I to old connectors or u will have to buy new connectors. Only had for a week now so not sure on longevity yet

A BEAR to install
The item in the photo is the "connector" used to attach the bollard fixture to the DC cable. ESPECIALLY frustrating to use when replacing/adding this unit to an existing buried line. Tiny screws are EASY to lose in the soil. "Prongs" intended to pierce the insulation on the DC cable bend when pressure is exerted and DO NOT make contact with the wires. I ultimately spliced a traditional connector onto the wires from the bollard. The unit works fine now.BOTTOM LINE --- IF YOU WANT TO REPLACE OR ADD ONE OF THESE UNITS TO AN EXISTING LINE, DON'T EVEN TRY TO USE THIS POORLY-DESIGNED CONNECTOR; SPLICE IN A TRADITIONAL CONNECTOR.

well built
This is a well built product. It was exactly what it claimed it be. I have issues with it, but it is not the lights fault. The bottom is quite open and I want my bases closed due to fire ants that love to push dirt up and into the lights that sit flush on the ground and then make them an alternate home. Once the fire ants dig around the bases of my lights then bermuda grass tries to grown after I kill the fire ants off. Plus I am running LED bulbs in mine and want to supply them with more protection from the elements. I can seel off the bottoms of the glass mushroom bollards quite easily but not these. The opening at the base around the spike is just to large. I will use it in a more protected place and hopefully none of these issues will crop up.

Happy originally, but not so much now..
I purchased these in late April. They have worked wonderfully until the last month or so. 3 of the glass portion of the lights have cracked through at about 45 degrees. I used the spare I had to replace the first but now have found two more cracked. I realize I'm outside the Amazon return period but hope someone from the manufacturer sees this review and contacts me about sending three replacements glass and cap (seems bonded to the glass). I don't know why they've cracked. The weather here in San Antonio is hot but the temp doesn't change rapidly. The lights work great but the glass is broken.George [email protected] - Contacted the manufacturer and they sent replacement glass. Like I said I'm very happy with the lights and now with the service. Thanks Moonrays!

Nice design, bad connectors.
I wanted to add more lighting to the yard, I already have several Paradise GL22601BK and Malibu Bollard lights, they look identical. I wanted to try these lower priced Moonrays, they are slightly shorter than the Paradise brand and the connectors are horrible compared to the other 2 brands. You have 3 screws to unscrew to connect, a bit of a burden when comparing to the quick connects that require no tools to install. On a budget, these is a good design, I wish they didn't skimp on the connector part.

Quality is not what it used to be
I purchased 16 units like these about 5 years ago and needed to add 3 more so I ordered them thinking it would be the same as before since it's the same product number. It was glass before, now it's plastic. It felt solid and quality before, now it feels cheap and I'm afraid the plastic will scratch and break. Perhaps they will provide long years of service, but they don't look and feel like they will. Only time will tell.I wish the company had the previous glass model, I wouldn't have hesitated to pay a bit more for the quality of the previous model.

These are garbage
This product is garbage. Installed to of these, and in less than 3 summer months they have both failed. Will not buy any Moonrays product ever again.

Feels cheap
I have several of these lights in my back yard that are heavy glass and powder coated aluminum but these ones are not glass just a thin plastic and I am thinking they won’t last the cold Canadian winter.
