Clear and comprehensive, with lots of hands
If you make a weak 3rd saet bid, what will you do if pard (a passed) hand makes a bid? How do you respond to pards bid? What does a 2/1 response by a passed hand? What constitutes a Drury bid, as opposed to a 1 or 2 level raise? What does a 3rd seat preempt look like? What about a 4th seat preempt? The book goes beyond the basics and discusses what the follow up bids should mean. 1NT Semi-Forcing. When not to bid so as not to hang partner. Solid coverageWhat do you bid in 3rd seat with:S: J 10 8 6 5H: 9 7D: A 6 2C: A 5 41 Spade. Its preemptive (takes away bidding space from the opponents. A 2 club opener now has to double and then bid to show his strength). You can pass any of pards responses. If pard bids 2 hearts, eh/she will have 5 and you can safely pass a 5-2 fit.

This is about exactly what is sounds like it is about
This is about exactly what is sounds like it is about: bidding after having passed instead of opening. It also covers the related topics of third- and fourth-seat openers. I did not find any major gaps in the content. Note that this book strongly recommends using the Drury convention; a large chunk of the text focuses on follow-ups after Drury.

Another Mike Lawrence gem!!!
This is an excellent update to the earlier version. Definitely a good value and worth putting in the time. As always, Lawrence does a superb job of exploring his subject and explaining the thought processes that a player should be using. The copious use of example hands brings excellent depth to the material.

Passed Hand Bidding
Mike Lawrence's series of books should be mandatory reading for all club and tournament players. His style of writing is easy to comprehend and his theories are easily applied at the table. A superior practical guide.

A very interesting book examining the implications of opening third and fourth in hand . The book seems targeted at those playing 5-card majors but never the less well worth reading if you do not.
