Wow wow wow wow....WOW!
I'd been looking at this for quite a while and finally decided to buy it and try it out. Seeing as I've been doing a lot of beef lately, I've been having fun experimenting with different rubs. I have a few of my favorites, but this one may have surpassed them on the initial cook!I got a nice TriTip from Costco. The fat cap and most fat was already trimmed off, so there wasn't a lot of prep that needed to be done. I decided not to use a binder, and instead sprinkled this rub directly on the meat. I did a light-to-medium coat, and let it sit in the fridge, uncovered, for a few hours.I then cooked the meat on a Green Mountain Grill pellet smoker with Texas Blend pellets at 200 degrees until the internal temperature reached 110 degrees. While the meat was cooking, I also heated up my Char Griller Akorn kamado grill using Big Green Egg lump charcoal and a couple of chunks of Oak. I put my GrillGrates on top of the standard grates, and let the grill come up to 500+ degrees. When the meat reached 110, I moved it over to the Akorn and onto the GrillGrates. 1 minute 30 seconds, then rotate to make diamond patterns. After another 1 minute 30 seconds, flip the meat. Repeat until the internal temperature hit 125, then I pulled the meat off and let it rest uncovered for 10 minutesThe flavor of this rub BLEW ME AWAY from the very first bite. Now, I do a lot of tri tips, usually with the same method as described above. So, I can for sure taste the difference my seasonings make. This one had the most beefiest flavor yet, and absolutely floored my wife and me.I can't wait to try this out on some other steak cuts, in addition to experimenting with it on briskets and/or beef dino ribs over a long low n slow cook

Excellent Seasoning
I discovered this Salt Grass seasoning several years back and was amazed by the flavor. I was a Lawery's Seasoning salt user for years, it's what I grew up with. We use the 7 Seasoning on burgers, steaks, chicken, eggs and chicken fried steak/chicken. I also use this when making gravy from scratch for biscuits. What is awesome about this seasoning is you can pronounce all 7 ingredients. We have a member of our family that can't have sugar and she loves this seasoning. I have purchased several of these directly from Salt Grass restaurants for about $9.50 per container. This was a great buy for about the same price and we didn't have to stop by or eat at Salt Grass. The perfect seasoning! I have also used this when smoking ribs for those that can't have sugar, pretty good.

Great on its own, or as an ingredient in rub.
A friend of mine grilled some ribeye steaks, and they were awesome. I asked what he put on them, and I was surprised when he told me he put nothing on them except for some "Saltgrass Seven Steak Spice".I ordered some the next day.My favorite usage: I take a lot of brown sugar, salt, ground black pepper, and the Saltgrass Seven Steak Spice, and use it as a rub on spare ribs, which go on my smoker for about 5 hours. My wife and I like our ribs a bit sweet, and the sugar/Saltgrass Seven Steak Spice blend does the trick. I've smoked the ribs 4 times now in this manner, and I doubt I'll do anything else, they have been phenomenal every time.

Order With Confidence From TexasFood!!!
Part of this review is for TexasFood, who I ordered the seasoning from. There was a problem with the delivery of my order, and TexasFood went above and beyond to make me a happy customer! I have nothing but good things to say about TexasFood. They responded to my inquiry in a timely manner, and communicated very well with me. I will definitely order from them again, once I run out!As far as the spice, one thing I was surprised at how large these shaker bottles were! I ordered the 3 pack, thinking they would be the standard smaller sized bottles, but these are 6" tall and about 8.5" in circumference, which made me feel better about paying this amount for each bottle. I guess I also didn't really stop to realize that 12oz is just 4oz short of a pound! With the 3 pack that I ordered, I now plan on giving the other two away to friends and drop subtle hints to have me over when the BBQ with this seasoning!BTW, I like to use this seasoning on baby back ribs cooked in a slow cooker, cooked until the meat is falling off the bone!

YUM....YUM.....YUM
My daughter found this product during a visit to Texas (from Oregon) probably a dozen years ago. She purchased a jar from the restaurant that night and brought it home. On a visit a couple of years later, I was in Texas and asked my hosts if we could go to dinner at Saltgrass. We did and I purchased several jars and brought them home. We were down to our last couple of tablespoons full in the last jar when I realized that I might be able to purchase the seasoning online. EUREKA!!! I purchased 3 jars and now don't have to go to Texas just to buy the seasoning. I use it on steak, hamburger, pork and anything barbecued. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. It needs no other seasoning (salt or pepper) to taste wonderful.

Best seasoning ever!
My son lived in TX for a bit and when he moved back to Ohio he brought ‘7’ with him. It has become my go to seasoning and I just love it. Of course it’s not available here and I was thrilled to find it on Amazon. I ordered 3... gave one to my son, one to my granddaughter and kept one for me. As the old saying goes: If momma ain’t happy, nobody’s happy. This momma is very happy.

It's my go-to seasoning for steak.
For years I just did kosher salt and garlic pepper, but wanted to break out of my shell, so I started trying different seasonings. Nothing I tried really had that "wow" factor until I tried this stuff. Needless to say, I'm back in my shell!I would note that I tried this on a prime rib and wasn't a fan over my usual rub, but for steaks, it's the cat's meow!
