Good Buy
I'm not sure why or how, but my old pillow ripped, spilling out all the feathers. And right before I was going to throw it away it occurred to me to buy a pillow shell and re-use the down feathers. But come to find out, there aren't many pillow shells with no filling on the market, online anyway. So I was happy to find this. The product was delivered quickly and was perfect for my needs. There is an opening on the side where you put your feathers or stuffing in, and FYI, it's not a zip closing. You have to sew it closed, which I was not expecting. But it was not a problem, I sewed it closed within minutes. The shell is of good sturdy quality, better than I expected in fact. The pillow shell is soft and there are no feathers poking through.I like this so much that I think I'm going to make my own pillows from now on instead of buying them. This way I can use as much down filling as I need to customize it to exactly what I want. This was a great find and a great buy. Thanks

Well-made and soft!
Well sewn and soft. Quills won’t leak out the seams on this one.

Beautifully Stitched
I ordered these to stuff with shredded foam to make bed pillows. They are beautifully made. The only thing I don't like about them is that the fabric makes noise when you move the pillow. You know how satin dresses tend to make noise, well, this is that same sound. Not loud, but enough to notice, and enough for me to down grade them from a 5-star to a 4-star rating.

I highly recommend all three high-quality, empty pillow shells!
More than forty years ago, I made three down comforters using down from new pillows that I purchased.Unfortunately, the cotton pillow ticking that was advertised to be downproof is NOT downproof. Because I no longer use or need down comforters, I'm converting the down from the comforters back into pillows. If I could have located downproof pillow ticking fabric to sew my own cotton pillow shells, I would have sewn my own. Because I could not locate downproof pillow ticking fabric at a reasonable price, I have purchased several of these three pillow shells with the different thread counts. I've washed each pillow shell in my washing machine, and each pillow shell laundered beautifully. I do not know which thread count that I prefer because I have not filled them with down. I'm still working on the project! Some people have complained that the pillow shells do not have a zipper. I would not have wanted a zipper because the down could easily escape through the zipper's teeth. It will not be a problem to easily and effortlessly close the entrance hole using my sewing machine.I asked several questions about their cotton pillow shells on the Amazon website, but I received no answer. Therefore, I sent the manufacturer an e-mail and received the following prompt response:They are all Down proof and washable.Regarding the Tread count, really depends with filling you will be filling them.If you fill them with feathers then use the 233 TC and if you will use 100% down then use the 300 or 400 TC.I have been sewing more than 65 years, and I highly recommend all three high-quality, empty pillow shells!

Easy fix for valuable down filling
I have Macy's down pillows from when Macy's pillows actually were very full of 100% down. But over time with repeat washing the shell wears out. But it is simple to transfer the down filling over to this empty shell and sew the shell closed. This after reading too many negative reviews on multiple down pillows and deciding it is worth putting in a small amount of effort to save the valuable filling which can be cleaned and reused.

No Zipper - must sew shut
Decent quality and size, but I was really expecting a zipper. One of the most useful parts about stuffing your own pillows is the ability to adjust the firmness as needed or over time. Having to sew these shut removes that benefit.
