I have been using graphite and coloured pencils for a few years. Saw this book and thought it would be a good addition. How wrong I was, throw the others away, this is so full of help and experience the others fall away in comparison. So if u wish to draw or paint buy this first. As the lessons can be applied to what ever u draw. It's 400 pages and I bought a good used copy. It looks brand new. Buy it learn, enjoy and learn again.

Loads of pages with colour plates and excellent examples to follow. The only thing I question is the hours and hours they claim we need to complete the drawings...they don't take that long. Excellent value and excellent book.

My Botanical Art tutor recommended this book to help me understand the multi faceted aspects of flora. I have looked in wonder at the beautiful detailed drawings. But most of all I’m looking forward to making time during the summer recess of my art classes to concentrate on the exercises.

Really interesting and useful examples of different artists working practices. Don’t expect a tutorial for beginners, but do expect lots of inspiration and helpful ideas. Decent print and image quality too so you can actually see sufficient detail.

This is a lovely book for those wanting to paint botanicals in a variety of media. Very inspiring!

Nice book, doesnt show you how to paint many oil flowers though

This book is amazing. Very detailed even for a beginner. Great photos and it is organised well A superb book even if you only have on the coffee table to look at and never paint a thing!
