Ford Explorer & Mercury Mountaineer, 2002-2010 (Chilton's Total Car Care Repair Manual)

You can either buy the dealer service manuals for much more money or you can buy this. The Chilton/Haynes family of manuals are not available for newer cars but can come in handy for older cars. There is a website as well where online manuals are available.

In my entire life as a driver, some 53 odd years, I've never had a car that I didn't buy the Chilton's book for. You'd be surprised how much money this kind of thing can save you. Even for little things. You can always find what you're looking for and you don't have to be a mechanic to have it pay for itself over the life of your car.I come from an era where everyone worked on their cars, so maybe I'm a little biased, but there are times many of us need to do something that you'd think should be simple and yet it's not obvious. Find the right section in this book, and it becomes obvious.

I want to love this book, however many of the more complex repairs just tell u to go to a mechanic. If I was rebuilding the transmission I would. But the point of a manual is to help u with the repair. Honestly u get more out of going on u tube.

This is a good book, detail enough with pictures. However, it would be nice if it has an electronic version available rather than a thick paper book. An electronic version will make search functions much more efficiently. I also bought a shop manual in a DVD-ROM from another popular website with cheaper prices. The wordings of the two are almost the same but this one has more pictures which are not really necessary.

Everything about the vehicle in the book, I was able to troubleshoot the problem, locate the issue and get it resolved.

My husband and I bought a 2004 Ford Explorer last spring and he stated that he wanted to buy the maintenance book for the truck so that he could possibly repair and maintain the truck hisself. I took it upon myself to buy it for him as an early christmas gift and he loved it (doesn't take much to make him happy!) The book is very informative and makes it easy for amateurs like him to perform simple jobs yet save LOTS of money. As for the shipper, it came in within 2 days...shipping was fast...and the book was in great conditioner.

以前購入したチルトンの整備書は結構細かく詳しく記述されていたが、これは全くヘインズのと同じ程度で、余り整備書としての機能は果たさなかった。この手の本は本屋で実際に見て購入するのが一番かな？

エンジンＯ/Ｈでは、物足りないものがありますが、配線図はだいたい載っています。
