I believe that the technology is now available to allow us to look into our bodies at home, and for the first time, have a greater chance of prevent serious medical conditions before they occur. That said, you should always see a physician or your GP if you have any doubts about your health, first and foremost and before taking up any exercise regime. I've built up a number of smart medical devices, and the Spirohome Personal is the latest edition to the family. It's small, sleek, and certainly feels like a 21st century bit of kit. I expected it to be heavier for some reason. It doesn't come with batteries, so you'll need to have some available. Getting it set up was easy. At first it didn't prompt me to connect to Apple Health, but after an uninstall and reinstall of the app it sorted itself out. Connecting to bluetooth was easy. When you are running the tests you need to blow as hard as you possible can, for as long as you can (at least six seconds). The system grades your tests. Once you have completed three your results are displayed. Since this is an ultrasonic device, there does not appear to be any moving parts, so it's reassuring to know that it should last a long time. There was the odd application crash (iOS 12) but as this is a brand new device, I'm sure they will iron at the problems over time. If you do have a serious lung condition, I highly recommend this device. If you don't, it's a great way of keeping track of you lung health over time.

This machine operates in conjunction with an app which is easy to install. There’s a visual display which takes you though the technique and encourages a proper ‘blow’. Following an attempt the display will record if it’s acceptable. The recordings are stored along with 2 graphs from each result. The numerical results, including the graphs, are valuable resources for health professionals. As a retired respiratory nurse specialist with chronic lung conditions, I think this machine, which conforms with European and American standards, is a valuable tool and worth the extra cost, especially at a time when many with respiratory conditions are cared for by Zoom calls. In addition, I feel there’s an additional element of safety using my own equipment.

Easy to use, reusable and easy to clean

I bought this after reading the reviews, and I'm a bit perplexed as to how highly this product is rated. For the price, it's surprisingly 'amateurish' and flimsy in look and feel. I felt underwhelmed slightly. The device itself does not portray its £249.99 price tag, and it doesn't even come with batteries. What the description also doesn't tell you is that you will need to buy replacement mouthpieces, with a recommended lifespan of three months, and less if you have a cold or virus (which many asthmatics seem prone to catching.) On a more positive note, the device is easy to set up via the app, and the instructions are clear. The Bluetooth connection worked well. The app data is clearly set out, and there is a lot of data if you are analytical. It's easy to use, however, if you want to sync through to the Apple Health app, this product measures PEV in L/sec, and not L/min like every other device I've seen (manual and digital.) There is no way to change the units of measure. If you are using Health to record your PEV values, the Spirohome results will mess up your data. You will need to recalculate and manually enter your result. Considering I wanted a digital option so that I didn't have to manually enter results, this product is pretty much useless for my purposes. As for the results themselves, they hugely overestimate my PEV readings compared with the manual meter, which matches the results I get at the GP and at the hospital. I had huge expectations for this product, but it doesn't offer the performance level I'd expect for a device of this price. The app is good, it's a shame that the device is not at the same standard.

I’ve purchased this spirometer a few months ago to monitor my lungh health regularly. My doctor said I’m under risk of developing asthma due to some respiratory allergies I have. So I was looking for a portable spirometer with high accuracy measurement rate for practicality reasons and to avoid from high fees of health centers. As overall, i gotta say that I’m loving this device so far. Its design and user experience are to the point. It guides you how to properly use the device with very simple and intuitive interface, keeps a record of your tests, and even lets you share them with your doctor. Its industrial design is simple and clean but I wish it had more color options.

As soon as the box is opened, it''s clear that this is a quality medical instrument. Very easy to setup with the phone app though beware the phone needs a minimum of Bluetooth 4.2.2 so might not work on some older smartphones. App is fantastically easy to use and produces great resolution results that can also be printed. Would like to have seen the ability to add a personal note to the results about symptoms etc and it would be nice to be able to view results via the website as well as the app, maybe with the ability to delete unneeded test results and export data as CSV.

Me ha encantado, lo único que tendría que poderse cambiar de idioma

Prodotto piuttosto preciso che non si discosta molto dai valori delle spirometrie fatte in ospedale. Molto facile da usare e da interfacciare con l'app dedicata. Venditore molto affidabile, avevo dei dubbi e mi ha risposto in tempi velocissimi e con chiarezza. Consiglio il prodotto anche perchè arriva sigillato, compreso il boccaglio, e in tempi di Covid non è un dato trascurabile. Amazon perfetto come sempre.

Ich bin sprachlos. Habe eben das Paket geöffnet. Darin befand sich ein unverschweißter Produktkarton, der auf der Rückseite mit einem unidentifizierbaren Zeug beschmiert war. Die Seite des Kartons hatte einen Langen tiefen Kratzer – so als hätte der Vorbesitzer das Paket mit einem Messer geöffnet und dabei den Produktkarton touchiert. Im Karton selber befand sich ein zerkratztes Gerät sowie ein bereits geöffneter Hygienebeutel, in dem das mutmaßlich bereits genutzte Mundstück lag. Fotos anbei. Ekelhaft. Hier holt man sich dann zu seinen möglicherweise eh schon bestehenden Erkrankungen auch gleich noch bei Benutzung des Geräts in diesem Zustand die Pneumokokken und Co. gratis ins Haus. Absolutes No-Go!

Perfettamente funzionante e pratico. Un bel prodotto

Habe das Gerät am 24.3.2020 in Betrieb genommem, hat gut funktioniert bis zum 3.6.2020, danach keine Messungen mehr möglich. Trotz regelmässiger Reinigung war das Gerät nicht mehr in der Lage irgendwelche messungen aufzuzeichnen. Ich bin sehr enttäuscht. Leider gibt es keinen Servicekontakt in Deutschland,und eine Rückgabe bei Amazon nicht möglich wegen Überschreitung der 30 Tagefrist. So ein Gerät ist selbstverständlich nicht zu empfehlen.
