I have the room to setup a 10 meter range, so it is nice for cold winter nights to have something to do. I wanted a match grade Air Pistol, but didn't want to spend an arm and a leg to get one. I had seen the reviews on this and thought I would give it a try. I am very impressed with the accuracy of this pistol. The trigger pull is very light, so you are not pulling off bullseye because the trigger is stiff. At 10 meters, I can easily connect the holes using a red dot sight. The air tank can be filled quickly with a hand pump versus trying to fill a rifle tank. I have a SCBA/Compressor setup for my rifle, so I fill from that. Air usage seems to be good. There doesn't appear to be any sign of the trigger ratcheting the air valve like some of the rifles do. The other awesome feature is this thing is quiet. You don't need hearing protection. You won't have the neighbors calling the police when you are shooting it in your back yard. Overall, this is a fun gun to shoot and with match grade pellets. (I am shooting Crosman Premiers) you will have amazing accuracy. However if you put a piece of cardboard on a stand at ten meters and smear peanut butter on it the flies will appear and shooting flies at 30 feet / 10 m is fantastic as there is a never ending supply of flies to shoot. But gun is accurate to shoot them PLUS you can buy Silhouette targets ( metal) and shoot them at IHMSA distances and have ample to turn them over. It is a pcp gun so compressed air is cheap AFTER you buy a high power compressor. If so, do medium height scope rings work ok? Or does it need high rings?** A: I realize this an old question but maybe this will help someone else. I have a rather large (3-9x40) scope on mine. I had to use a Weaver to Dovetail adapter. I used Medium rings but you really can use any height that works for you. The only concern would be the ability to load a pellet in the load port. **Q: Will this take down a deer?** A: NO, this pistol will NOT take down a living deer. As for a paper target of a deer possibly. Very good quality of gun and VERY ACCURATE ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Accurate at 10 Meters *by P***S on December 1, 2025* Pretty nice air pistol for target shooting. I have probably shot around 850 rounds though it so far? Crosman Premier Hollow Point 7.9 grain pellets seem to work pretty well in my Crosman 1701 P. MeisterKugeln 8.2 grain Wadcutter pellets are the best so far from my tests. The air pistol is unregulated. At 10 meters it didn't seem to make much difference between a starting point of 3,000 PSI and ending point at 2,300 PSI in seven 5 shot group tests, for a total of 35 rounds. I shoot one handed and accuracy was fine. At 25 yards however, the best accuracy was i think the first 5 shots. The groups quickly deteriorated in my gun. i think my final groups were over three inches while the best were about one half inchs off a rest. Since the best accuracy was at high pressure, having a regulated version of this air pistol might not be worth the expense? Just guessing on that though... I bought the Crosman 1701 P for Bullseye practice. I was using a Crosman 1377, which was nice but required changing ones grip every shot because you have to pump it. My 1377 is older. I could not say if modern versions are as good? I bought a 1322 because the 1377 was so accurate and I thought maybe the heavier pellets in .22cal would be better at long range, but the one I was sent was garbage. The best groups are at 10 pumps and that group was gigantic... well over 1.5 inches at 10 meters from a rest. I would recommend the 1701 P and can not speak for the new 1377 and can not recommend the 1322 as alternatives. All have the same grip and the grip is maybe not the best. I use a Four Uncles high pressure hand pump. It took a little bit of time to get the pressure chamber filled from nothing to 3,000 psi the first time. Since I shoot everyday for practice, I have never released all the pressure and usually leave the gun at 2,000 to 2,100 psi when I am finished practice. Using the hand pump, I think once the pressure in the line is equalized, which does not take much effort, I probably only have to pump 10 times or so to get back up to 3,000psi? I wasn't sure if a hand pump was going to work for me, but it seems to be fine?
