Halo Recessed 5060P 5-Inch Trim with Gimbal, White

I have been recommending and installing lighting fixtures for 43 years. I purchased one of these to check it out before recommending it for a project and I am very glad I did. There are two "v" shaped support springs, common to this style fixture, one was so flimsy that it pulled off just trying to get it out the plastic bag it was shipped in, and even after I re-attached it, the other one came off trying to put the trim into the housing and neither stayed attached regardless of my effort to correct the problem. There is a clip that is designed to hold the lamp into the ring and it should be made of spring steel so that when you press the lamp into the ring it expands temporarily and then contracts around the lamp to hold it in place, however it is not made of spring steel so it expands but doesn't contract and so doesn't hold the lamp in place. The inner ring should turn inside the outer ring allowing for aiming the lamp, but it would not turn even before assembling it into the ceiling. I wasted my time buying it, trying to figure out how I could use it in spite of its poor quality and returning it. A total waste of my time, money and effort.

low profile trim has an excellent look as apposed to the "old type" eyeball fixtures.

These are very clean looking and have a much more modern look than those antiquated eyeball trims (just my opinion). They install very easily into Halo 5-inch cans, just make sure you get the right bulbs (PAR30) because they have to slip into a spring loaded retainer. I like them and would recommend.

Used while remolding, fit the space I needed. Very nice.
