Flames of War: Hit The Beach - Two Army Starter Set

Outstanding value. 111 tanks (three German, 8 American/British) two sets of infantry and two anti-tank guns for $50. Each tank purchased individually is usually $9-11 at the local shop. The quality of the models is standard for this company - very, very good. The big roadblock for getting into miniatures games lie Flames of War is the huge investment just to try it out. This relatively low-cost set solves that problem. In my opinion, you still need help figuring out how to assemble the American models, thre are several options to choose from and no advice is offered. Fortunately, there are groups on Facebook where there is plenty of advice available. I cannot emphasize enough what a terrific value this is.

Everything shown on the back of the box was in the box. Some of the kits were a little tricky to assemble and the instruction sheet must be followed to a T.There are extra parts in the kits (for the early war Sherman for example) and two nearly identical sprues of infantry figures. It is difficult to tell Axis from Allied, but if the instructions are followed to a T, there should be little trouble. That said, there are no decals for the models, but otherwise a good kit to start your Flames of War collection.

If you want to enjoy tactical WW2 warfare, Flames of War is the place. Company level warfare, small scale figures, large scale combat.If you have even a passing interest in WW2 and wargaming, pick up this kit. The models are well made, just prime, paint, and assembly.

The decals can be very difficult to find. Especially the American decals. Even though this set does not include them (that will cost you 15 to 20 dollars more if you can find them) it is a good value. You get 8 American tanks, 3 German tanks, a couple of German AA guns, and nearly 100 figures between the American and German forces.You also get a rule book and starter guide to get you into the game quickly. If you decide to paint these models I recommend doing it before assembly, it's much easier to do that way. Painting is not necessary, but it does add a bit of realism to the game. I also recommend either purchasing or making a 6 by 4 gaming surface. If you do make one, do green on one side and tan on the other, that way you can play European or African campaigns.Battlefront is pretty good with these starter sets and if you are a WWII buff you will enjoy playing Flames of War. This set is only one of several starter sets designed to get you into the game quickly and easily.

A great starter set for Flames of War. For a pretty good price, it has two full 50-point armies. It does not have tokens, but they can be easy downloaded from the old Open Fire starter set online.

Amazing how much you get for the price. It even comes with dice! If this was a Games Workshop product it would be 3 times the price. The rules are easy enough to figure out if you've played other tabletop games.

Die Box enthält alles, was man braucht, um in Flames of War V4 einzusteigen. Ob das Balancing bei der Box passt, klammere ich mal aus. Denn es geht ja nicht darum, ob die Box fair ist, sondern ob sie einem Anfänger die Regeln beibringen kann.Und das tut sie. Panzer, Geschütze, Infanterie, alles dabei.Die Regeln selbst sind in einem leicht verständlichen Englisch und die Illustrationen sehr hilfreich.Es ist komplexer als bspw. Warhammer 40k, aber das ist nun auch wirklich keine Kunst. Sobald die Regeln sitzen, ist das Spiel flüssig und actionreich.Die Miniaturen sind in gewohnter Battlefront-Qualität. Keine Beanstandungen.Wer also ein gutes Einstiegsprodukt in die V4 von Flames of War sucht oder einfach günstig an gute Miniaturen im 15mm / 1:100 Maßstab sucht, wird hier fündig.

Les figures en 15mm sont super détaillées, de nombreuses poses très réaliste et toutes diverses. Blindés inclus, dés et règles, très beau contenu.

Plenty of quality miniature figures, & AFV's. A great starter for any budding wargamer.The tile is a bit of a miss as there is no beach, should be called Paras hit Normandy.
