Tight fit in shoes but comfortable after a few days
These insoles take a few days to wear in and need to be shoved into your shoe - but after all the effort, they are fantastic. They are nice and cushiony, and I use them to add padding to my boots and also prevent my boots from creasing (because I'm shorter). Usually my boots will wrinkle and the leather will wear down quickly, but with these inside, they keep their shape a little better. If these were only slightly more affordable I'd buy them for all my shoes. The only downside is that I don't switch them into the shoes I'm wearing every day because they're tough to get into different shoes and take a while to mold. They come in a general size and you cut them down to fit. I cut a bit smaller than my actual shoe size just to get it in. I also don't bother with the extra bottom piece because it doesn't look like it fits that sturdily and I rather just one solid insole.

Foot doesn't fit into shoe with 1.5 insoles.
First, I'm a size 10 and the shoes I wear are rather large and roomy in width. The shoe insert fit into my shoe easily; I first tried the 1.5 inch insoles first. I then attempted to fit my foot into my shoe, but it would not fit. So I made it fit by stuffing my foot in the shoe until the top of the shoe was pressing hard against the top of my foot; it looked like I had a bubble at the top of my shoe where the shoe strings are. The .5 inch attachment does not stick to the larger 1.5 inch part very well, and disconnects when walking. Walking in these shoes with the 1.5 insert was quite painful. I had a very sharp pain in my Achilles heels, and my ankle rolled once when walking almost spraining my ankle. Moreover, the top of my foot was burning and hurting from the pressure from the top of the shoe. I had to immediately take the half inch attachment out and leave the 1 inch inside due to the 1.5 inch causing unbearable pain. The 1 inch fit more comfortably and feels comfortable, but my dress socks keep sliding over the insert causing difficulty walking. Still I feel my gait looks strange walking in the 1 inch insoles. My body weight presses the insert down to the point where it isn't an inch anymore, but about three quarters of an inch. However, I like the 1 inch, but adding to the inch to create a 1.5 insert does not work technically for shoes. I would suggest buying the inch, but not the attachable 1.5. I wish elevator shoes and inserts would sold at places where you can try them before purchasing them.

Give them a try!
I've seen so many reviews for these and they are ether great or just suck. Let me share my experience. This is my review of these but now with different footwear. One thing to understand is one needs to pick out a good shoe. Another, its and I believe I said this before. Don't get greedy. An inch or two in height is noticeable to me when I walk and i'm taller than some people that I work around. I stand about five nine in bare feet so while not short, I just wanted an extra edge. Also, if you're five six and stand six feet others will notice something strange in you're gait as well as your torso. Yes, these are GREAT.......BUT......you need to understand what they are and wear correct shoes. Not just high tops or boots but the right shoes. I have a forty dollar pair of high-top boots that I can place both pieces in and even add another and can be well over six feet tall. Not really that awkward but not very good for more than an hour or two. I've used them with rebock high-tops and can use just the larger one inch lift. Not bad but a little cramped but good support. The best fit for me? I got some Sketchers afterburner with memory foam. Ordered on here but never received so picked them up at Sears on sale for 39.99 and 10 bucks off for 30 bucks. I am a size ten with average with feet. The Skechers I got from Sears were an 10 extra wide. They work much better than the boots and high top sneakers. I place the larger lift in the shoe and it's much less crowded than the Rebock high tops. Even though these are ankle fit shoes, there is still about two inches of coverage. I can lace them tightly and don't have to worry about my ankle rolling nor are my feet smothered. I work in retail and am on my feet about 50 hours per week. If anything, i've found these to be more comfortable as the 1 inch insert is just more padding between me and the concrete floor. My advice, just try these, find the best shoe, and again, don't get greedy. An inch or two does not mess up the way you walk, will make you taller around others, but will not be that dramatic that others will notice you're wearing lifts.

Great comfort and great adaptability
I purchased these for a costume I made for a couple upcoming cons. I'm 5'6" and normally wear an 8.5 Wide. I purchased some Rothco military jungle boots with these very lifts in mind. I purchased a 9 Wide, anticipating the needed extra room for the lifts. I trimmed the lifts down to a size 9 according to the pre-marked guides stamped into the bottom of the shoe inserts, snapped on the extra 1/2" pad to the insert and placed them in the boots. My foot fit into the boot great, but I did feel the top bridge of my foot smashing against the bridge of the boot where the bottom eyelets meet the top of the foot/toe area of the boot (base of the tongue). I walked around in them in discomfort with the base of the boot tongue digging into the top of my foot for about an hour intentionally, given that I wanted to break the boots in a bit with the inserts. Please keep in mind that the heels and soles of my feet felt GREAT! These do have some springyness to them and offer enough support and cushion for extended wear (in my opinion). After about an hour, I took the boots off (with the help of my daughter...LOL) and sure enough, I have red indentations at the tops of my feet. Now that the boots are broke in a bit, I took the inserts out, and took off the additional 1/2" extension off of the inserts and placed the the main insole back into the boots and put the boots back on. PERFECT! With the natural heal of the jungle boots, and the 1" insert (sans additional 1/2" piece) I now stand 5'8" in perfect comfort. The base of the tongue of the boot does not dig into my foot and the heals and soles feel great. I would be standing 5'8.5" had I left the additional wedges in, but at the sacrifice of pain to the tops of my feet. I also could have purchased a half size bigger in the boots, but did not want to hassle with the exchange and return shipping, so I am ok with compromising 1/2" in height. Hope this review helps!

You do not want to be taller. Promise me.
Unless you want to feel like you are physically broken, you will not use these to make you feel taller. Yes, they make you taller (and by quite a good margin). No, you will not feel good and start closing any deals because you will have trouble walking and your feet will hurt and you will look like an injured gazelle. Just stop it! You're not going to win with these things in your shoes. They are beastly contraptions, designed to prey on those who have the unfortunate condition of being both short AND cheap.

Awesome
I'm 47, and I've had a lift in my left shoe since I was 15. Everytime I switch shoes, I have to put my lift in. I found a bunch of these, ordered 2 other sets and they were too small. ( for a woman's shoe.) I found this set and ordered them. There awesome! Well built, they hold there height unlike foam inserts. They come in a left and right, but I only need the left. So I ordered 2 sets, I put the left side into 2 pairs of shoes, and I cut the right side down with scissors to make 2 3/4 inserts. The one I've had since I was 15 is 3/4, so it worked out great. Now I have 5 lifts for 5 pairs of shoes. If you have my problem, these are awesome. They won't fit low shoes. But I can make them work in my Asic tennis shoes, and all my boots. They will fit high top and 3/4 high tennis shoes. Very happy.

Elevator Insoles
Ordered these for several pairs of my shoes. I have lower back problems by way of three ruptured disks and these not only make me look taller, but also by lifting my heels they make me lean backward a little and make me stand up straighter and improve my posture, thereby making my back hurt less. They are also just the right amount of cushioning such that they provide lower impact to my feet and knees when I walk. The softening of each step is very comfortable and by placing these inserts in my shoes it makes my dress shoes feel more like a well-cushioned pair of tennis shoes. In most of my dress shoes I am unable to use the extra half inch pad because they lift too much and make your heel want to slip out of the shoe. However, in my boots I can use both parts of the lifts and they soften the heel impact with the ground even more. These work best in lace shoes so you can loosen the laces and let the arch of your foot rise higher in the shoe. These would not work well in slip ons or penny loafers as the lift would make the top of the shoe above your arch too tight. So, not only am I happy with these lifts, they help me feel better and they were much more reasonably priced than most of the others. I would highly recommend these shoe insoles.

kinda big, will hurt your feet, but order bigger shoes that you can wear
Good product, however I never use the attachable height increaser. With that said, I only use this product in boots, or else your your ankle/heel showing over the back of your shoe will "give you away." Further, I buy a shoe size 1-2 sizes bigger (normally I'm a 9.5 US, but with this product inserted I must use a 10-10.5 US boot. Also note, when I put these on I usually have to loosen the laces or else my feet will feel too squeezed. So far, these issues seem reasonable to deal with, all things considered. Final MAJOR problem for me, and the reason this isn't a 5 star: for some reason, after using this product in the same boots for about 2 months, the boot has become disfigured near the back/heel area. Its become uneven and looks as though a stack of bricks just sat and pressed the sole of the heel unevenly (very crooked look, and the leather of the shoe just over it has also become crooked). This makes your shoes loose their appeal, but I suppose it is not a big deal if your pant leg is always covering it when standing and not many people will notice when sitting (note: your pant-leg rises and reveals boots when seated). Bottom Line: Recommended if you're willing to buy bigger shoes/boots (1-2 sizes should do). Attachable increaser is unnecessary. I will try other brands of height increasers in the future to see if I can avoid the crooked heel issue. Hope this Helps!
