Jacques Herbin - Ref 13768T - Scented Ink for Fountain Pens and Rollerball Pens - Encre Rouge, Parfum Rose/Red Ink, Rose Scent - 30ml Bottle of Scented Ink

Color: It's a scented version of another of their inks, Terre de feu. This is a pale oxblood (more red than brown) and approximates the color of Dutch process cocoa powder. Scent: There is the faintest hint of cocoa if you smell directly from the bottle, but nothing otherwise. While I did not expect the scent to stay on paper, most of Herbin's scented inks are strongly perfumed and you can smell their fragrances as you write. This did not have that effect for me.

I bought the 5 ink sampler to start out and this was the one I ended up going back to most often so i got the whole bottle. It smells amazing. Close enough to violet but with a grape undertone. Its more of a candy scent than the violet flower, but it definitely evokes the color purple to me. The scent lingers just after writing then disappears. Many people have commented that it smells greatI wish they made this scent in black or blue so i could use it more at work, but its not so loud a color that i cant sign check or address mail with still

The smell: pretty faint and subtle which I like. It's not like a Christmas chocolate orange or bubble gum. But if you sent someone a letter, they probably wouldn't know it's scented. So what's the point?The color: it's a lot more "amber" than I thought. In fact, it's pretty brown. I don't know if I just got a bad bottle or what. I like the color because I like weird browns but it's not what I bought and that's annoying.Overall, it's a mediocre Herbin ink with a gimmick. I might order some De Atramentis scented ink or just dot my letters with perfume like a normal person. I had high hopes for this and will probably still use it. But I won't but anymore of it after this bottle is gone.

I was worried that this ink would be too heavily scented or that I wouldn't like the color. After using it I can safely say that it is a very subtle sweet scent. If you are buying it because you like lavender; I wouldn't recommend it because I don't smell lavender, just a VERY soft sweetness. The color is beautiful. The ink lays down a bright blue but it softens as it drys to a softer blue. If you press hard with the pen it does bleed through standard legal pad paper but if you have a soft hand it won't bleed through at all and you can write on both sides of the paper. I used a fine nibbed pilot metropolitan so keep that in mind, I don't know what the bleed through would be like on a larger nib.

Its simple, best red out of all reds. When its wet is the most beautiful bright red blood color you can imagine. When it dries it loses some of that brightness and becomes an also very beautiful slightly burned darker red, very similar to a light wine color. The smell is amazing,, strong enough to be felt across the room when you are writing and weak enough to not be annoying to you or anyone around you. The waterproofs(es) of this ink is virtually non existent, when its wet you can remove the ink completely with a little bit of air, it will smear of a drop of water touches your paper. Even when it dries, it will slowly shade off and eventually come off. This is a bad thing if you want a waterproof ink (for obvious reason) but it can be an advantage if you want a nice red easy to clean red (most reds are really really hard to clean, this isent). In fact I commonly get small splash of red ink into my white lab coat that go away every time i wash it without any kind of special treatment such as bleach.

It's got a scent, but its light. It seems to go away once you put the ink on paper. I use it on moleskine products and it doesn't like them, but it works. On thicker paper it behaves better. Its a nice slightly light red, but still bold. I love this ink!!

This ink was a big disappointment the first time I tried it. Although it's an interesting color there wasn't any discernable odor. The second trial was after shaking the bottle thoroughly beforehand. This worked better but even then that apple scent was hard to detect unless letters and words are thick and dense. There's more odor at the nib which adds a bit to the novelty. I was imagining the apple scent strong enough that a letter recipient would be able to smell apples as if a woman spritzed the page with perfume.

I've never purchased a scented ink before. I must say, I am very happy with this one. It has a light touch of the rose scent. I'd be happy if it had a touch more, but you can smell it. It is a lovely deep rose color and the ink flows nicely out of my Jinhao pen. I'm thinking somewhere down the road I may have to add another bottle of scented ink. But it really is a nice treat for myself.

Schöne Farbe. Der Geruch nach Apfel ist sehr sehr zart. Ich nehme ihn war, wenn ich am Tintenglas rieche. Aber auf dem Papier ist der Duft leider verfolgen.

Très belle couleur !Emploi aisé et très satisfaisant pour une teinte fine et élégante.En revanche, envoi bien long...... Pour un prix franchement élevé !

Orange assez terne et ne sent que si vous plongez le nez dans le flacon !

Its not a perfume ink

Encore un bon produit de JHerbin. Reçu rapidement. La couleur Pomme est juste géniale! Le parfum est subtile (au depart j'avais un peu peur d'acheter un flacon d'encre parfumé car souvent les parfums sont tellement forts que cela se finis par une migraine, ce qui n'est pas du tout le cas ici). Je conseille fortement cette encre de qualité (et le couleur pomme!)
