Simple, easy to use!
Overall I'd say it works really well. Costco sells sterno butane cans in bulk so the fuel is readily available. Instructions are pretty clear, the only small issue I had was that one time the ignition wouldn't fire, but I just switched the lock button on and off a few times and it started up. I hadn't had that problem afterwards, so hopefully just a one off issue. Otherwise the flame is quite strong and I've used it to finish off some ribs, steak, and roast marshmallows. It's great!

Easy to use and a consistent flame.
I've only used them for creme brulee and it works great! Used it about 8 times so far and no issues. I used a Coleman butane can. You can find a butane can at any camp/outdoor store. The flame stays consistent after it warms up. You have to warm it up at least 2 minutes, otherwise the flame output changes a lot when you move it around. Wish it had marks on the knob so you can adjust the flame to about the same output every time. I ended up putting my own marks with a Sharpie.

Best one on Amazon
I have 3 different torches all from Amazon and this one is the best. I don’t like the “safety” switch because it will switch on or off by itself just from gravity. I have used it for a while now and gone through about 5 cans of fuel and it doesn’t blow as hot as it did when I first got it but it’s still good enough for melting cheese and caramelizing burgers.

Manliest of torches
This... this thing. This manliest of manly devices. This Olympian Flame. If you want to impress your casual chef friends, bring one of these to their party, spin it on a butane bottle, and shout "PREPARE FOR CARMELIZATION". It is impressive. I love it. It makes me wish I actually cooked more often. I wish it had a momentary switch for activation, so that when I let off the switch it would stop the flame--instead you have to turn the knob all the way down to quench The Awesomeness, but that's a small complaint. Your friends who have bought a dinky little torch that came with a creme brulee kit (6 ramekins whee!) will bow to your greatness, knowing that they will forever be in the shadow of your mighty, flaming hand.

the torch is great, but i use it everyday and the trigger ...
the torch is great, but i use it everyday and the trigger now does not work, and i have to turn it up and light it with a lighter.it's a shame to, because the electronic trigger used to work so well. now i need it everyday and can't ship it back for a replacement . like i said great torch but my trigger went out in less than 6 months. although this very well could be from my constant using day and night, i still don't think it should have broke so fast even with the mega-use. put it this way both sterno and myself have to take the blame for the broken trigger. if you use it modestly it should last a long time. would recommend this for good around the home torch, not for everyday mega-use. hope this helps ...........................peace george

Perfect!!!
I began jewelry-making & metal smithing & have considered purchasing an acetylene torch which is very pricey (about $200 - $300). I didn't have room for such a big item & didn't feel safe using it in the house. I took a class & the teacher recommended this torch & I came home and ordered it immediately. It did not disappoint! Easy to use, small in size but will do everything the bigger torch will do & so much cheaper. I found the gas for it at a local asian grocery store (only $1 per can). Great for at home jewelry studios!

ignition spark was dead in a week. flame adjustment inconsistant.
I bought this as I have used Sterno products for 20 years. Easy enough to attach to Sterno brand canisters (off brands wont line up.) The official tanks are not widely available as I expected from this big brand. so your options are limited. Remember its gas so many wont ship. The ignition spark went out in about a week. I just decided to use a lighter to ignite the gas (yeah i know.) The gas flow was never consistent. Too much or too little and when it was hand adjusted to satisfaction it would not just keep the setting the same. I felt like just letting it burn between usage (art wax on canvas.) everything was pushed down and locked correctly and it would still smell gassy at times. Good company but failed on this one big time.

Seems to be plugged or something. Flame is not nearly as strong as day one. Tried multiple cans of butane. I have used it 4 times or so. Not even 10 mins of use

After one use it won't light using the igniter.
