I swear by it. Haven't had a cold or flu in at least 10 years. Other Ingredients: Vegetable Glycerin, De-ionized Water, Citric Acid and Potassium Sorbate (as preservative). Contains no: salt, yeast, wheat, gluten, soy, milk, egg, shellfish, artificial colors, artificial flavors, or artificial sweeteners. Vegetarian/Vegan Product.

I want to make jelly is this suitable for jelly?

I don't think it would taste as good due to the additional ingredients. You can buy dried elderberries (Frontier sells them here on Amazon) and use them to make jelly.

What is the shelf life of this when sealed? How long can it be kept once open?

I have used the product 6 months after it was opened and it still had the same excellent results.

Is this a plastic bottle?

Yes. And it's a great product. I put several drops in water bottle to prevent sickness.
