This vest looks exactly as it does in the pictures. I bought this for my sensory seeking son to calm him a bit. He has only worn it twice and does not like it on but he likes pulling in the curly swings and ends up (almost) forgetting that the vest is on. I gave 4 stars instead of 3 because the material does not allow any air to get in and the child gets hot too easily, so as a parent I caution you to not leave it on your child for long periods. I simply leave it on until my son is calm. We live in Arizona so I am not sure that this vest will be used in the summer at all because it is not a breathable material. The size fits my average sized 3.5 year old boy similar to how it fits the girl in the picture. Not to big and not too small. Hope this helps!

Like many products designed for sensory issues, this may or may not work for your kiddo. For our son, he liked to chew on the fidgets, and for a few months, he really liked to wear the vest, it helped calm him down a bit. Then as his needs evolved, he became less fond of it. Because he is non-verbal, I can't give his reason for falling out of love with it, so to speak.What I can say from my perspective is that getting it on and off wasn't always a smooth process, because getting the Velcro adjusted down to the right tightness is tricky with a kiddo who's got a virtually non-existent attention span and has zero desire to stand still and be fitted with something.

My sons OT had us order this and while it's still a little large on him (length wise) it's held up well. He loves the fidgets on the front. Just wish there could be a lighter weight design for summer months.

My son has sensory processing disorder and possible ADD. His P-K teacher has complained about him being disruptive by not being able to sit still (i.e., somersaults during circle time, knocking down other kids' building toys, and deliberately trying to wake friends up during nap time, etc). I had bought him some compression shirts but it's hard to find any that fit correctly (he's pretty small). I found this vest on Amazon and decided to try it out. What a difference! From the beginning my son has been calmer. He likes the feel of pressure around him (hence he is always looking for hugs) and this vest delivers. He doesn't have it on all the time but knows when he needs it. He'll tell the teacher and she'll help him put it on. He uses the fidgets too. One of his teachers remarked to me that he actually focuses better with the vest on. I would definitely recommend it.

My son at first fell in love with it, but after an hour of wearing it... Well it made him worse than it help. Son started to complain about it itching ( yes he was wearing a shirt underneath) and also began to sweat heavily (we were indoors). Was very uncomfortable for him. I wonder if the other reviews are real. I have a 4 year old 40 pounds with adhd, i need all help i can get. This is not it.

I bought this vest for my 2 year old son that has sensory integration disorder. He currently sleeps with a weighted blanket and when he is upset he likes a tight bear hug. I have not been able to go out in public with him very much because he would scream and have really bad fits. I thought about the compression vest to simulate the bear hug he craves so much. The day after I received this product I was able to go to the store and walk around a an hour! I probably could have stayed longer. I have taken him out several times all with wonderful results. I am able to adjust the amount of compression and it even comes with little toys. There is a car and a flower. The entire thing is adorable and soooo helpful.

Minimal pressure and not effective

My child initially liked the vest because of the compression. But the material is thick and similar to a wetsuit which makes sense you need it to be springy. Since we live in the South it was too warm for my young son and he wouldn't wear it after about 5 minutes because he was getting hot. The reason I am writing this review and giving it 5 stars is because of the way the company handled my issue. They were amazing. Because of their service I will have no issues ordering products from them in the future or recommending them to other potential customers.
