This is a great kit although I only ended up using the glass and the thin guitar pick for my repair. I also purchased LOCA glue to bond the glass to the digitizer. After reading a few reviews on similar kits about how easily they damaged their digitizer trying to get the glass off I was a little wary about attempting this repair for my wife's phone. I found a video of someone doing this repair using a guitar pick and a standard playing card and found that to be a great tool for removing the glass. Using a heat gun (not a hair dryer), I heated up the top half of the phone and gently pried up one of the corners just enough to get the corner of the playing card in there. Then I just slowly started to work the card done the side of the phone working my way into the middle of the screen. You will see the glue start to separate. Only do a little at a time and then reheat the screen again with the heat gun. This will make it easier to continue sliding the card in between the digitizer and glass. As long as you take your time and dont try to force the card through in one pass you will be able to successfully remove the glass without damaging your phone. A playing card is rigid/thin enough that you dont have to do any prying. The tools this kit came with looked a lititle fat to me so the playing card was a great alternative that most people will have laying around their house. Once I got the glass off I removed all of the residual glue from the digitizer. I then applied the LOCA glue to the digitizer and slowly lowered the glass on to the phone. Once everything settled/spread I made sure that the glue reached all corners and sides of the screen and brought it outside to cure in the sunlight since I didn't have a uv lamp. It took about 30 minutes to cure in the sun. Over all it took about an hour from start to finish. This was my first attempt at this type of repair and it was very easy. Just take your time and don't rush anything.

This screen is a great replacement for a shattered original! Very tedious replacement, but if you have the patience, and watch quite a few videos, it can be done. This screen is a perfect fit for the phone.This glass has the Samsung logo imprinted on the top as well.This is just the top glass for the screen, the LCD IS NOT included. It takes time, and patience to remove the old, cracked glass from the LCD... ALOT of time and patience. People are saying this is a piece of crap, but it's installer error. Remove the back plate and the battery, use your heat gun and VERY CAREFULLY use your razor blade or pry tool to begin separating the cracked screen from your LCD.This is a very slow and painstaking process,but it can be done.... but be aware, one wrong move and you will POP your LCD. Understand this is a very likely risk if this is your first phone. So again, I can't stress enough.... be patient, be patient, and be patient... watch multiple videos, and if you do, you'll be happy you did your own screen replacement.

The kit was so easy to use. It comes with so many useful tools to replace your screen.I watched some YouTube videos while helping me replace my GS4 screen and it worked really nice! I would give 5/5 stars on the kit. However, I gave 3/5 stars because of the screen itselfIt isn't comparable to the original screen. It get's grimy easily and collects oil and sticks. I can't express how frustrating that got. The amount of grime it collected prevented the screen from detecting my gestures. It was so difficult to swipe to unlock. Also, it broke very easily. Without much impact, the screen cracked crazily, and then a triangle of my screen was missing (I have to risk touching my digitizer to click my screen). This "screen" doesn't even crack like most screens would. Questioning the quality.

This kit includes more tools than you will need. I used everything accept the 2 screwdrivers. The included instructions are sufficient, but I would advise watching a couple videos on you tube just to familiarize yourself. It CLEARLY states in the instructions that you will need to heat the device in order to warm up the adhesive to remove the glass. The instructions are color photos with descriptions of each step. They are really good.When going in with the guitar pick, make sure that you do not go too deep. If you do, you will be lifting up the digitizer (touch screen) and glass together. If you are only replacing the glass, that is the only thing that you want to lift up. There is no need to purchase adhesive separately as the included adhesive gasket is perfect.My project did not go as planned because I managed to damage the digitizer so my touch screen does not work. This has nothing to do with the product. This was an error on my part.Other than that, the phone looks brand new. The kit is great and the glass in high quality with a perfect fit. Just be patient and be extremely careful with the digitizer behind the glass. I would definitely recommend this product and I would purchase it again in a heartbeat. I would just be more careful next time. If this product does not work, you either bought the wrong product or you did not follow directions.

I would highly recommend NOT GETTING this product. Although the instructions and installation were very very easy, it broke while i was installing the cover onto my phone. I didn't even touch it other than remove the plastic from the glass and it cracked as I was pulling it off. Terrible item and ended up cutting myself cause it doesn't allow me to use the phone since the screen cuts your hands every time you try to use it.

Installed this piece using the Ifixit guide. Everything works perfectly and it comes with all the tools needed to install.

I thought the process would be easy. It's not. It's actually very very hard. And very very time consuming. If you're patient, you have a heat gun, and a lot of time, go for it. Or hire someone to do it. I's cheaper than getting a new phone entirely, but when I replaced the glass I failed to notice that by taking off all the adhesive, there would be air bubbles under the glass. Which is kind of annoying. I might just end up getting a new phone since I had a warranty in the first place. Some people have said that you can put a screen protector on first and the glass overtop. Maybe it'll get rid of the air bubbles. But for me, I don't feel like removing it all over again. If you want to save a few bucks, Get it.

Didn't use many of the tools, and I used a hair dryer, not a heat gun. BUT if you use a playing card to slide under the glass it works really well. It took me almost two hours but it was a great fix! No touch issues at all and saved me a bunch of $$$.

Dropped my phone and broke the outer screen. This product looked good, however it did not work as well as the original screen. It would not sense my fingers. Ended up paying a professional to replace everything.
