Co 007 6x11 Thin Sheet Ultra Bright Chrome Foil

I build models of classic cars and have used this product for years. I usually purchase from a local hobby shop but decided to order it via Amazon.com. The envelope containing the Chrome Foil was taped between two pieces of cardboard that were about two inches shorter than the envelope. The top two inches of the envelope was folded and it was difficult to get the tape off. I would strongly recommend shipping this product in a container that is large enough so no folding is necessary. While the product seems fine, there is a crease due to the folding that could render part of the chrome foil unusable. I am not sure I would order from this specific seller again.

I was super pleased with this product. I had an old brass ceiling light fixture that I loved and wanted to update to go with the rest of the chrome fixtures. I don't use spray paint because of COPD, so this was a wonderful solution. Although it did tear easily, I was able to "smooth" out the few tears as the surface was patterned. The result was exactly what I wanted as it now appears to be a "new-old" fixture with the elaborate chrome base and the patterned clear globe. If you have something you love that you want to "update" this really works great! However, I doubt that it would take any significant wear and tear.

*******UPDATE- I received a replacement. The replacement was in much better shape. The product works great. I still have a problem with how they package it. As you can see in the second picture it comes folded. And because of that there are a lot of wrinkles in the foil. I was able to smooth most of it out, but there is still some wrinkles in the middle. Again the envelope is long enough to put the foil in without folding it as you can see in pic #3. So i dont know why they do it, but it messes with the product. *******This is exactly what everyone thst buys this product wants to see. Nope... although the package was plenty long enough the genius that put it in the envelope thought it would be a great idea to fold the foil. And now there are creases and wrinkles that I can not get out. It looks horrible. Can't say that I'd buy from this seller again.

I love Bare Metal Foil and highly recommend it.One, minor issue: it shouldn't have been folded for shipping.

this is the ULTRA chrome. this foil is very thin and can tear easily! if you have used this before then you know how to apply it. That being said... it is a great product and easy to (carefully) apply. Great for chrome trim on models etc and stays stuck once it is applied. bare metal foil regular chrome is a little thicker and easier to work with... you decide.

There's NO adhesive. I tried different sections of the sheet and, it wouldn't stick to anything. I have sanded the surfaces of each but, this product easily pulls right off the surface. I'd purchased this for a spring project. Now that I've begun my project and well underway, I was ready to apply the 'chrome' to my model. After several frustrating attempts, I touch the backing of several pieces I'd cut from different sections of the sheet, I realized there wasn't enough adhesive to allow the product to stick to my completely dry finger much less, the areas I'd wanted to 'chrome' on my new model. THOROUGHLY disappointed. Do NOT waste your money on this product.

Looks just like plated chrome (if you are careful). Requires lots of patience, tons of Q-tips and customized tooth picks but the effort is worth it.
