Thermador 24 Inch Built-in Microdrawer Md24js

Remodeled our kitchen all appliances are Thermador. Bought this microwave was installed 8 Months while warming up lunch we heard loud noises and then smoke can out of the microwave. Called the company they sent a repairman out, parts have to be ordered. I wrote to customer service and told them my disappointment but also my concern about having said unit repaired. I have a sharp microwave that is 20 yrs old and works amazingly with no issues. Sharp came and did a general maintenance service on it and the repairman was amazed that it works so well and has been around for so long. Interestingly we definitely didn’t pay almost $1600 for the Sharp.

We purchased this model last July, 2013. It didn't last 2-years before it completely died. I will say, we really liked it while it lasted. But nearly $1600 and it lasting less than 24 months?! At least it happened within the 2-year warranty period. Still... pretty disappointing. Actually, very disappointing.*** UPDATE: Two months later and we are still waiting for a "back ordered" part to repair this unit. So... we've been without the use of the microwave for the last 8 weeks while we watched our warranty expire. Even more disappointing. Thermador (Bosch) should have just replaced the entire microware as soon as they were aware it would take 2 months (OR MORE...IT'S STILL NOT REPAIRED) to get the part! ._

Would make a gurgling sound every so often. Smoke emitted once, and we called for a repair. VISIBLE burn marks on the machine, and we were told by the repair person it was not fixable. Thermador customer service was zero help and only wanted to offer a "pro-rated" price on a new machine to make the issue go away. DO NOT BUY and NEVER GO WITH THERAMDOR EVERY AGAIN.
